Apex Avenger: Shadow Soldier

Ch 8

I wake up and look at the alarm clock on my night stand and it's 7:33 in the morning. I slowly get out of bed trying to find my clothes that are scattered on the floor since I'm fully naked.

"Shad?" Thalia calls out softly.

"Shh stay asleep baby." I whisper going over to her.

"I'm so sore." She chuckles sleepily.

"I wouldn't expect anything less." I smirk.

"Where are you going?" She asks sitting up revealing her toplessness.

I groan slightly staring at her chest. She looks down and covers herself up.

"Aww no fair I'm naked." I pout motioning down my body.

"And your morning wood is standing tall." She says.

"How do you know it's not cuz of you?" I smirk walking over to her kissing her.

"Mmm you didn't get enough last night?" She asks brushing her lips against mine.

"I can never get enough of you." I tell her pressing kisses down her neck ripping the blanket away revealing her naked body.

"I can say the same." She sighs running her hand through my hair.

I start bitting and nipping down her body but remember my task at hand. I get up from on top of her making her look at me disappointedly.

"Why'd you stop?" She asks.

"Sorry babe I have to get ready." I tell her and she sighs looking down.

"Please be careful today." She tells me softly.

"I will babe." I assure her pecking her lips.

"Do you have to look for the Winter Soldier today. You're banged up." She says caressing my face.

"I'm fine. The sooner I handle this the sooner I can comeback and spend some more alone to with you." I say backing away to put on some underwear then my suit.

By the time I'm ready to leave the room Thalia has also changed.

"Promise me you'll come back, in one piece." Thalia says coming over towards me wrapping her arms around my neck.

"I will." I nod.

"Promise me." She presses licking her lips.

I open my mouth but I look over to the clock to see I'm running late.

"I will, I gotta go." I say kissing her lips deeply before I leave.

I got a lead on the Winter Soldier as I was on top of a building watching him. He seemed to be alone making me smirk. I grab my bow and arrow aiming it at him. I shoot it but another arrow intercepts it snapping it in half. I look towards where the arrow came from and see Hawkeye already looking up at me.

"Not again." I groan then start to make break for it.

I run and parkour through the tops of the buildings and alleyways trying to get them off my tail. The Winter Soldier catches up to me and we start to fight at a very fast paced each of us countering the others moves with precision.

"We need back up." Clint says through the coms.

Someone then comes from behind me trying to hold me but I flip them over my shoulder and it's Captain America.

"Come on Apex, we don't want to hurt you." He grits as they both fight me.

I keep fighting but they over power me getting me on my knees weakly. I try to shift into the gorilla but the collar shocks me preventing me from doing so. Hawkeye comes behind me pulling my head up as Captain America and the Winter Soldier spread my arms. Iron man comes over extending his arm a small drill coming out from his forearm making it's way to the collar around my neck. It begins to shock me harshly making me groan in pain as Iron man works on the collar. It then clicks off clanking on the floor and my head hangs down as I pass out.

Steve and Bucky pull Shadow/Apex off from the floor and put each arm over their shoulders.

"Let's get her home."

They carry her over to the black van where Natasha was waiting very impatiently. Her eyes widen as she sees the guys come over with the unconcious girl.

"Is she okay?" Natasha asks worried.

"We got the collar off and she's passed out." Clint informs her.

"I'll meet you guys back at the compound, I need to make sure they have everything ready." Tony says through the suit making the others nod and he flies away.

They pile up in the black van. They set Apex in the very back seat with her head laying on Natasha's lap. She removes the mask and sees Apex's bruised face then runs her hand softly through Apex's hair then moves it aside looking at the electical burns from the collar. She gently runs her fingers barely over the burns but Apex's body automatically flinches in pain but doesn't wake making Natasha's heart clench.

"How she doing back there?" Steve asks through the rear view mirror as he drives.

"She's out like a light." Natasha responds not taking her eyes off Apex.

"She's not gonna disappear if you look away." Bucky jokes making the guys laugh.

"Shut up Barnes." She huffs.

"Tony says that they have everything ready back at the compound." Clint says looking up from his phone.

"I don't think it's necessary to put her in that box." Natasha says.

"She's going to be disoriented when she wakes up, we need to keep everyone including herself safe." Steve says.

"That's why we just keep her in her bedroom not the same type of cell we put Loki in." Natasha says rolling her eyes.

"Tasha." Clint sighs softly.

"Fine" She huffs "but only until she wakes up."

"Besides this one isn't like Loki's cell, this one's stronger. It has this unbreakable magic glass." Steve shrugs and the guys chuckle.

Steve and Bucky pull her arms over there shoulders as Clint picks up her legs. Natasha leads opening the door.

"You guys got her." Wanda smiles approaching with Thor by her side.

"And you guys have a weird way of holding her." She chuckles with an eyebrow raised.

"Here allow me." Thor says going to them picking up Apex bridal style with no trouble.

"Come on we have to take her, to the cell." Steve sighs leading the others.

They walk into a room where Bruce, Tony, and Vision were waiting.

"Thor place her inside please." Bruce says pointing towards the cell.

Thor walks and places Apex on the floor then moves hair out of her face hoping he finally got his friend back. He steps out and they close it locking it tight. Vision is the only one that can go in and out through his density manipulation without opening the cell. He can also manipulate the cell itself with a touch of his hand. They all look at Apex through the cell.

"What now?" Bucky asks with his arms crossed looking over to the others.

"We wait." Tony says.
