Ch 37

When we get back to the compound it's quiet, no one is around.

"That's odd." Natasha comments as we look around the living room where we usually wait for the others when we plan to go out together.

"FRIDAY where is everyone?" I ask confused raising an eyebrow.

"There was a unusual circuit malfunction in the room used for gatherings so they are investigating."

"Let's go." I say and she nods and we make our way there.

"What a night huh?" She says as we walk through the halls.

"It hasn't even started yet babydoll." I chuckle.

"Well I hope it isn't serious, I'm starving." She says as we get to the door.

"Ladies first." I motion for her to walk in first and she rolls her eyes with a smile.

"Thank you." She says kissing my cheek opening the door going in.

"Congratulations!!" Is heard from everyone and Natasha is surprised her mouth slightly dropping.

"You surprised?" I ask her.

"Y-yes." She nods with a chuckle.

"Yes! We got her! She's surprised!" I exclaim making everyone laugh.

Other people were here as we planned a small engagement party and I'm glad she sad yes because it would've been awkward to send them home.

"See I told you she would say yes." Bucky smiles coming over to us hugging me.

"I'm so relieved she did." I chuckle into the embrace then he hugs Nat.

"Congrats you guys." Wanda squeals hugging us both.

"So everyone knew except me?" Natasha asks and we nod.

"That's why I was nervous these last couple of days." I tell her.

"Well that's a relief." She says making us laugh.

"Congratulations." Vision smiles.

"Thanks V." I smile as he gives us both a hug.

"Congrats little cuz!" Rhodey says coming over with Sam.

"Thanks big cuz." I smile as hugs me tight.

"Congratulations you guys." Sam smiles and we dap.

"Thanks Sam." I smile patting his back.

"Congratulations you two." Aunt Pepper smiles hugging Natasha then me.

"*clears throat* Yes congratulations." Tony nods by her side then I hear a slight sniff when he looks down to adjust his tie.

"You alright uncle T?" I ask him trying to look at his face.

"Me? Oh yeah, these lights are very bright, triggering my allergies." He waves off.

"Well I'm going to get a drink." He adds walking away.

I furrow my eyebrows confused and the other two have the same look.

"I'll be back." I say and follow Tony to the bar.

I see him wiping his eyes with his pocket square.

"Hey." I say and he turns to me before stuffing his pocket square back in his pocket.

"Hey kid." He says pouring himself a glass of scotch.

"I didn't know you were allergic to light bulbs." I say and he slightly chuckles.
