Ch 20

"Mr.Stark is requesting you for dinner Apex." FRIDAY speakes from above.

"Tell him I'm not hungry right now." I sigh not having moved from my bed.

"Apex get your ass down here before I come get you." Tony's voice comes through the intercom.

I groan and get up from my bed and head down to the kitchen.

"The big bad wolf finally comes out of her den." Bucky smiles making his plate and I make a face at him.

I then catch a glimse of Natasha and my heart clenches remembering Thalia's words. I go and make myself a plate.

"I saved you a seat next to me." Natasha tells me as she passes by me as she heads to the dining table.

"Thanks but I'm gonna eat in the kitchen." I say looking anywhere but at her.

Natasha's eyebrows furrow confused at Apex's distance but doesn't say anything as she plans to confront her later.

Instead of hanging out with everyone in the living room after dinner I went back to my room and was in bed watching TV flipping through channels when I see Friends and leave it on. Then there's a knock on my door.

"Y/N/N it's me Natasha, can I come in?" I hear from the other side.

"Uh I'm naked can you com-?" I ask even though I'm clothed in bed.

Despite my half answer the door opens.

"That didn't mean come in. What if I was really naked?" I ask.

"Nothing I haven't seen before." She shrugs coming in and I roll my eyes.

"What's up with you tonight?" She asks walking towards my bed.

"Nothin." I sigh shuffling in bed creating distance between us.

"Then why are you moving away from me?" She asks.

"I'm just getting comfy." I shrug looking over at the TV.

She huffs grabbing the remote turning the TV off.

"Aye I was watching that." I tell her but she couldn't care less.

She sits on the bed and I move away shaking my head. Natasha's face softens.

"So were you going to tell me she came to talk to you?" She asks.

"Who?" I ask clearing my throat.

"Don't do that you know who I'm talking about." She scoffs.

"There's nothing to tell." I close my eyes.

"So what did she want?" She asks.

"Me." I answer simply.

"She wants you back at HYDRA." She nods.

"No, she wants me for me." I clarify.

"She said some things that got to me." I continue, shaking my head.

"She can say those things so she can get you back to HYDRA." She says bluntly.

"So what are you doing? How do you feel about me? Are you stringing me along to stay here and be an Avenger? Are you just doing Fury a solid?" I ask and she looks taken back by my questions.

"That's what she put in your head?" She asks offended getting up.

"She didn't put anything in my head I already had my own thoughts." I tell her.

"Can you just go? I don't wanna talk bout this anymore." I shake my head.

"I'm not leaving I want to clear things up between us." She says stubbornly crossing her arms over her chest.
