When we arrived at the Sanctuary hotel, there was an attendant waiting in the lobby to escort us up to the rooftop bar; aptly named St Cloud. He was very polite and greeted me by name which was surprising. I didn't know if he knew who I was or if Luiz had made a big deal about who I was to get us a booking.

We were taken to a sunken lounge on the far corner of the rooftop with big comfy lounges and nothing but a few panes of glass separating us from the night air and ambient noise and light emanating up from the streets of Times Square below. "Holy fuck." was the general reaction from all of the guys as they walked over and looked down to the streets of New York. All of them started taking photos and I just giggled to myself. I'd been to lots of rooftop bars in New York so it wasn't super out of the ordinary.
"This place is insane." Oli said flopping down onto the lounge beside me.
"I thought you guys would like it." I replied.

A man in a suit came over and told us he would be looking after us for the evening.
"Can I please get a round of tequila shots and could you please organize some vegan share plates?" I requested, knowing all of the guys were on a non-meat diet.
"Oh God. Tequila again?" Oli asked, laughing. "I remember the last time you drank tequila. I ended up having to carry you out of the toilets." he joked. He seemed to be in a pretty good mood. I laughed at the memory of the night we saw Skrillex and I was indeed very drunk, but to be fair, it wasn't just tequila that should have been blamed!
"God that was such a good night." I said thinking back to it.
"It really was; one of my favorites ever." Oli agreed.

When the shots arrived, Jordan held his up in the air to make a toast.
"To Joy for bringing us to such a cool bar." he said. I laughed. Behati quickly raised her glass.
"To Joy being famous enough to get us into this cool bar." she said with a laugh. I was so embarrased, but everyone laughed.
"To my manager for getting us into this cool bar!" I corrected them both with a laugh. "Seriously though," I said. "To New York and us all being here in this amazing city tonight." I added happily.
"Cheers!" everyone said, crashing their glasses together before throwing back the tequila shots. In that moment, I felt like I was right back in London with them all again.

We sat around chatting about all sorts of things, with multiple little conversations going on between everyone and plates upon plates of delicious vegan morsels arriving to the table for about 2 hours. There was no shortage of drinks either, with Vincent and the guys constantly checking if I wanted another. I paced myself though, not wanting to have a repeat of the last time I was partying with them!

I sat with the guys and spoke with them about their tour and asked about the girls back in London. Micky had a girlfriend now, and I found out that Jordan and Emma were engaged. I was so excited for him and jumped up to give him a huge congratulatory hug. I was happy to hear that the girls were all good too; I missed them a lot after London when I was stuck there alone. We joked and laughed about all kinds of stupid things, and I was having such a great time.

When there was a break in the conversation Oli came over to me after returning from the bar.
"Can I grab you?" he asked.
"Sure. Where do you wanna go?" I asked standing up with my drink. He looked around and pointed to an empty lounge just outside of our area, kind of tucked behind a hedge. I felt like this was going to be a serious chat. Why would be have wanted to move out of earshot of the others otherwise? Behati looked at me wide-eyed as I wandered off with him, I can only imagine what she thought was happening.

"What's up?" I asked as I sat down.
"Nothing." he said with a smile. "Just wanted you to myself for a minute." he laughed. I raised my eyebrow at him. "Nah, I just wanted to talk to you." he said, the laughter faded and I could tell something switched in his mind. His expression changed. "Sorry I was so out of it when you saw me at the Alt Press party. I was so shocked to see you, I didn't know what to say." he admitted.
I couldn't help but grin. "I could kind of tell..." I said. He looked a bit embarrassed.
"It wasn't that I didn't have anything to say, it was more that I had so many things to say to you that I said absolutely nothing." he said before pausing for ages. "Kind of like that last day in London..." he said, his eyes down to the floor. I felt exactly the same way about our goodbye and I'd always wondered if he felt the same. I wondered what he'd wanted to say to be back then.
"So anyway, I just want to tell you what happened last year... after London." he exhaled. "I'm not proud of it, but I want to be truthful to you... and I guess you sort of know from the speech and stuff." he said, now scratching the back of his head; that nervous thing he always did when he was uncomfortable. I used to notice it all the time in London. He took a deep breath and started talking.
