Chapter XV

We were walking down the streets of the city while the sun created a beautiful painting above our heads. Levi kept changing, I could tell from his feet and back that he was, but I won't run away from him if he thinks I'll hate him. This was his uncle's doing, but as much as I hate the man doing what he did I couldn't help but feel a bit happy that he did. If he didn't then I'd still be going to their bases planning for war than cherishing the life I have right now.

We were getting close to the place I wanted to take him to both talk to him about something and show him what Piek and I would look at from this destination. By this point I was dragging Levi by his hands to hurry up, in a playful manner, and when we finally got there I smiled brightly.

" This is it! Come on, before we miss it!"

" Alright, alright, I'm coming." Levi chuckled.

We came across a bridge where Piek would bring me when I was little to watch the water spirits dance in the river and light up the aqua lotus flowers.

" Come and sit down right here, it'll be fine."

Levi came over to me where I was sitting on the bridge and he sat down next to me. We waited for the spirits to come out and when they did I saw one familiar face in the group. The spirit jumped up to me and transformed into his human like body.

" Hey Eren! It's been a while hasn't it? Wait, isn't that one of the humans?!"

" Don't worry, he's with us. My mom is cool with it and she told the whole city that he's safe. So, Armin, this is Levi. Levi, Armin."

" It's a pleasure to meet you, Armin." Levi extended his hand for Armin to shake.

I watched as the two awkwardly looked at each other, then from the corner of my eye I saw the other spirits start to dance.

" You should join up with them Armin! I'd love to see you dance one more time!"

" Alright. I'll be back after I'm done okay?"

" 'Kay!"

Armin transformed back and jumped back into the water to join the others. I love watching him and his family dance as they light up the lotus flowers. Thinking about the flowers, I used my foot to pick one up and handed it to Levi.

" For you, as thanks."

" For what?"

" For all that you've done for me so far. No one has really spent their time getting to know me like you have, more over protect me because I'm one of them instead of being royalty."

" Hm, well then, you're welcome."

We watched the spirits create all kinds of designs and patterns in the water with their abilities, and after a few minutes they all went back to their underwater homes. Levi spoke up to ask about Armin.

" Didn't he say he'd come back to talk to you?"

" Yeah, but what we meant was some other time. You see, since they're so small they use pretty much all their power in doing something like this. So they try and save it for special occasions only. After they dance they're so spent that they can't even transform into their human-like state because it's too exhausting for them."

" Okay, that makes sense. It was beautiful too, thanks for showing me Eren. !"

" Levi? What's wrong?!"

" I guess that serum Kenny gave me is really starting to kick into gear now... God damn this hurts like Hell!"

" Here, drink this, it should ease the pain if only for a little while."
