Chapter XXIII

AN: POV switch to Eren.

I watched as some of my people were launched into the air from the explosion, immense amounts of empathy and sorrow filling within me but I soon turned those feelings into a fuel for my growing hatred towards the evildoers within the human army. I helped Levi onto his feet and gave the order to begin with Plan A, creating the diversion between the main forces and Kenny's main defense. 

" Come on Levi, we need to send Hanji in with the fake seeds to the designated location."

" I'm with you, all the way."

I smiled and then we took of running for Erwin, Hanji, Miche, and Nanaba. The six of us ran into Levi's squad on the way and gave them orders to begin with the aerial attacks, we then resumed headway for the trap location.

As we ran, I could hear the battle cries of my people behind us. Though I knew they haven't engaged in battle yet, I had to grit my teeth to bear with the pain that was tearing me up inside. Had my father felt this way when he went to war with the Horus? I couldn't imagine anyone feeling nothing when he knew his brothers, sisters, his people were fighting for their lives for their future. However, if I didn't lead this battle then we'd be lost. 

I suppose I was so lost in thought that I was startled enough by Levi bringing me back to my senses.

" It's going to be alright Eren. We will not admit defeat until we claim victory."

" I know, I just can't help but feel this way. I think it's the will of my father from his last battle, he couldn't shake off the feeling of empathy for those who gave their lives in those battles."

" You can change that, Eren. The next king will grow to be greater than you, then the next one, and the next. Your race will only continue to grow stronger if we make today a day to be remembered."

Hearing those words gave me relief and put me at ease just enough to focus on our primary objective. Eventually we had made it to the location and by the time we did the collision had occurred and Taos could be heard fighting against the Sky Beasts. We waited about a few minutes before Erwin's communication device patched its way through from one of the humans from Levi's squad.

" This is Petra Ral checking in from aerial support. Our main forces are pushing through and there seem to be minimal casualties thus far."

" How's it looking on the other side?"

" Enemy forces don't seem to be armed with the new robotic suits due to lack of training. No aerial support from them yet, but they are showing up on the radar on stand-by."

" Anything else to report that's on the radar? Do we know where Kenny is?"

" Commander Kenny appears to be in a mobile vehicle on his way to you with no additional support. I think Plan A will work."

" Rodger that, but stay light on your toes. Things could go south if we're not careful. Over and out."

I took in a deep breath before nodding slowly and turning to face Hanji.

" Here are the seeds. If things start to go wrong give us the signal and we'll come to you, so in the meantime we'll be hiding in the bushes close by."
