Hazel's POV:

Night came fast and so does Ava's calls reminding me to get ready for the party tonight.

I wear my light pink crop top, light blue jeans, and converse and pull my hair into a loose bun.

Usually, I avoid makeup but a little makeup doesn't hurt anyone. I don't want to go to a party looking like an ugly duckling. I apply mascara, a light pink gloss and a highlighter on my face to look fresh and wear my glasses. I don't wear contacts because it causes irritation in my eyes and the amount of water that is discharged from the eyes only ruins the makeup.

After getting ready I take my tiny black handbag which I always carry with me and go downstairs. Ava said she'd pick me up because I can't drive. I never learned. I usually ride my bicycle to go somewhere.

Mom and dad are probably in a dining area because it is almost dinner time. Although I told them earlier today that I won't be home tonight I should tell them I am leaving.

I enter the dining area, the marble floor of the room shining under the bright yellow lights of the room and get startled to see them not alone. I didn't know a guest was coming. On focusing, I realize it is Tyler Wood; I know him from newspapers and he is Jonah's father. He a well-known businessman

"H-hy," I saw awkwardly and look at dad who is staring at me in distrust. From the atmosphere of the room, it seems like they were having a very heated conversation before I interrupted them.

"Hazel," mom let out an uneasy laugh. "Tyler, meet my daughter Hazel," she tells Tyler Wood, raising her hand in my direction.

"Hello," I say again this time rather less oddly. "Sorry to interrupt,"

"It's okay Hazel,"

"Your daughter is just like you, Camilla," he remarks. Everyone says that I resemble mom. I am completely different from dad as he is blonde and has brown eyes.

My mom gives a smile to him and returns her attention to me. "Did you want anything?" she asks.

"I just wanted to tell you I am leaving. I told you I have plans with Ava," I inform mom.

"Okay," Mom shrugs.

I say goodbye to everyone and leave. I check my phone, getting outside the house and closing the door behind.

"Hey, I am ready. Are you here?" I message Ava and hear a car pull off in front of the gate. I look up and instantly recognize it's Ava's red Toyota.

I smile and walk down the porch to her car. "Looking good," she says as I get in.

"Thanks but you look prettier," I compliment. Ava is quite pretty with her dark long hair, bright skin and brown bright eyes.

"Thank you," she says cheerfully and drives.

Elijah's house is near the lake. It isn't the house she lives with her parents. She usually throws parties there. No wonder how her parents allow her to throw parties at such a lush house.

It is a one-story loft style house with large windows and a wrap-around porch. I can see the crowd inside, through the windows. I remember there is a swimming pool in the backyard.

"Ava I will not stay for long. I am telling you," I say as we climb out of the car.

"Okay, let's go," she says eagerly.

"And don't leave my side. There are too many people," usually her parties aren't as crowded as tonight.

She doesn't reply but I know she heard me. I follow her through the crowd. It seems like she is looking for someone, her eyes wandering through the crowd.

Her face lightens up as she spots something or someone. She is looking outside the window at the backyard in the pool area. I follow her gaze and see Elijah and her friends sitting near the pool, outside

"Come on, let's go," she says.

"I will not sit with them," I protest. "Why are you so desperate to see them?" she rarely hangs out with them because of me.

"Because look Jonah is also there," she says pointing at him, only his side profile is visible. I have seen him in school a few times. I wouldn't even see him with Elijah in school because he was a senior and Elijah was with us though he is still friends with her. Ava has tried a lot of ways to talk to him or just be near him but has failed because sometimes even his friends wouldn't know where he is.

I won't say he has a bad reputation with women. I heard he only dates girls who he thinks suits his personality.

"Oh, no-" she pulls me by the arm before I can protest and takes me straight to Elijah and her friends.

Here is the second chapter. I hope you like it. Don't forget to comment and vote. xx.

ATTENTION: I have changed the names of Daniel and Noah to their original names instead so now DANIEL is JONAH and NOAH is CORBYN, I am sorry for this confusion but I though it would be better.
