Chapter 4.

ATTENTION: I have changed the names of Daniel and Noah to their original names instead so now DANIEL is JONAH and NOAH is CORBYN, I am sorry for this confusion but I thought it would be better

Hazel's POV:

"What are your plans now? About college?" she asks in a cocky voice as she pulls the plastic cup to her lips.

"I am going to Ivy College this September," I tell her proudly. She gives a bored expression. "What about you?" I attempt to continue the conversation.

She shrugs. "I-"

I wait for her answer. Lauren staring intensely at us.

Should I not ask her that?

"She is not going," Corbyn speaks with a smirk. "We are on the same page in this one. Our parents don't want us to go to college because they are trying to teach us some stupid lesson which they probably need," his gaze on me now. From the corner of my eye, I see Jonah snort.

I give a slight nod. I am not even surprised.

"I am not like you, Corbyn," Elijah says irritably.

"Here you go," Ava returns with a can of coke and a plastic cup probably with a beer or Gin in it. I let out a breath I was holding since Ava left. "What's going on?"

"Nothing we were just having a little talk," Elijah replies and her sight falls on the can of coke in my hand and a sardonic smile appears on her face "Won't you have a drink, Hazel. You came to the party, not a family dinner," she says probably trying to make fun of me.

"Yeah but I prefer not to drink,"

"Surprise Surprise," she says loudly catching the others' attention who are now staring at us and all I want to do is put all the coke on her face. "And what is your philosophy behind that, Nerd,"

Nerd? I don't like to be called that. "I just think it's stupid," I answer, trying to stay cool and calm.

She widens her eyes in disbelief.

"How is that?" Jonah speaks in his deep voice. I look at him, his expression is grim.

I hesitate. I didn't expect him to ask. I just want to get up and leave but I can't, that would be embarrassing.

"I think by getting drunk we only embarrass ourselves" I try to explain. Though I don't hate it I have never been drunk except once and I don't like to think about what happened after. It is the biggest regret of my life.

He raises his browns mockingly and I feel a confident rush inside of me. "Don't you think everyone at this party is embarrassing themselves doing things they will probably regret in the morning."

He furrows his brows. He lightly shakes his head in disagreement. "This," he says, pointing at the party. "-is not dumb. I call this having fun. You don't embarrass yourself after getting drunk you feel joy but someone like you having a perfect little life won't understand. Still, if you want to, I can make you feel that way and you won't even have to get drunk for that. Nerd," he says with a satisfied expression on his face leaving me aghast.

Corbyn let out a laugh and Elijah smirks, Lauren makes an annoyed expression.

I feel an anger rush inside of me. "Joy? If living this life is a source of happiness for you I believe no one deserves that kind of happiness. Look at yourself? You all are friends, even strangers talk if they get to sit together," I say getting up angrily. "Perfect life, yea sure at least I didn't drop out of college so I can waste my time getting drunk. It's just us who makes our life miserable and then seek happiness in these things." I yell, looking at him in disgust.

Before I can process another word he gets up, standing dangerously close to me. His bluish-green eyes looking directly into my green eyes, in rage.

"No one gets to talk to me like this. Don't fucking dare again or I won't give a shit, I'll ruin you nerd." he sneers, sending shivers down my spine. My hands curled up in a tight fist.

As much as I want to admit that I am not scared of him, I am and I don't want him to know that. Without saying another word I turn around and leave. Because as much as I know Jonah if I say another word, it would only bring disaster for me.

Surprisingly, Ava didn't follow me. What is wrong with her? I push past the crowd into the kitchen. It is less crowded here. I take in a deep breath. My throat is dry, I look around for water but this place is full of different drinks but water.

"What are you looking for?"
