Hazel's POV:

After a few ring bells, he picks up the call. "Hello," he says in a tired voice.

Ava looks at me for assistance, it seems she already regrets calling him. I look at her sharply, forcing her to talk.

"H-hy," she says oddly.

"Who is it?" his voice alert now.

"Ava, remember from last night,"

There is a pause on the other side. "Oh Hey," he says after a while.

"Yeah," Ava sighs.

"I didn't expect you to call this early in the morning," he says and I roll my eyes. This is early?

"I actually need your help," she blurts out.

"My help?"

"Yeah um, can you give us Jonah's number?"

"Oh," he laughs. "That's usual but sorry I can't."

"He thinks we are like other girls, trying to get into his pants," I whisper irritably and Ava tries to hush me. "Let me talk," I say loudly, Ava is taking too much time. "Hey Corbyn, it is Hazel, and it is not what you think it is. I want to talk to Jonah and it is very important otherwise I would have never asked for your friend's number,"

"So you are here too," he says in a flirty voice.  "You can tell me. I would love to help you,"

"You can't. I want to talk to him," I snap.

After a long pause he replies. "Okay, wait."

Ava and I nod at each other and wait for him to give us a number. I can hear murmurs on the other side of the phone.

"What?" A dark and bitter voice speaks from the other side of the phone after an awfully long pause. It is not Corbyn and a part of me knows who is it but I don't want to believe it. I look up at Ava shaking my head questionably. She shrugs.

"Who is it?" I ask.

"What do you want?" he snaps. It is him. It is Jonah. Ava and I share dismayed looks. My mouth goes dry. I didn't expect Corbyn to hand the phone directly to Jonah. I am not scared but surprised. I thought he'd give me the number

Though I desperately want to end the call I can't. He is not the kind of person who would agree on talking again. I still wonder how he is talking to me right now. Maybe his father has talked to him about the wedding.

"Hey," I say foolishly. There is a silence on the other side. I sigh confidently. "I think you know what I want to talk about,"

"No I don't," he says dryly. "You are wasting my time,"

"I am talking about the wedding. I think your father might have talked to you about it,"

I hear him sigh sharply. "Yes,"

"So you know. Look just say no. I can't marry you,'

He let out a bitter laugh. "You think I am dying to marry you? I have my reasons. I am not saying no but I'd be glad if you do. Don't try to talk to me again," he ends the call leaving me aghast.

"What the hell just happened," Ava says in shock.

"I told you he won't listen. He is an asshole," I say angrily. "But how did he agree?"

"I think you should try talking to him again," she suggests.

"There is no use," I tell her in disappointment. "I don't know what is going on,"

"Then there is only one thing left. Apologize to your parents," Even though I want to, can I plain up just be selfish and tell them that I can't marry him and it isn't just about him, if it would be anyone I am not ready. I want to go to college.

"I really want to but I can't be selfish. They are my parents. They don't usually ask me for anything. I know it is a huge thing but still... If anything happens to the business they have spent years to build up, I'll blame myself," I tell her my concern.

"I understand," she says sympathetically.

"So I don't have anything left except on agreeing,"

She shrugs. "It is upon you but don't fall in love with him. He is mine,"

"Never,"
