Hazel's POV:

"Hazel," Mom says getting up. She walks towards me and gives me a tight hug, so does dad. "Uh I missed you so much," she says.

"That's why you didn't call me?" I ask.

"Hun we can explain," dad speaks and I shake my head in disappointment.

"There is no explanation dad. You are sitting here, doing nothing but you can't call or visit me?" I question. My words breaking my own heart. I never thought my parents would do this to me.

"That's not true. We weren't in the town," Mom says and I frown. "We went to Seattle for a business meeting,"

"But you could tell me," I argue.

"I know I am sorry but we were planning to visit you tonight," dad says.

"Really?" I ask. I want to believe it so much though something seems wrong.

"Yea," Mom says and I nod. "Come on sit," she gestures towards the couch. "Liza can you please make us tea?" Mom says loudly.

I sit with them. "Where is Jonah?" dad asks. What do I tell them that he fought with me in the morning just because I deleted the pictures that could ruin someone's life but he doesn't care?

I shrug. "I don't know," I say.

"He is your husband. You should know," Mom says and I raise my brows.

"Mom, stop pretending that you know nothing. We don't even talk" I say.

"But try to talk. Like it or not, you have to live with him now,"

"For just a year. I don't want to talk to him," I say. "You promised me it's just for a year."

"Yeah. We promised," Mom let out a small uncomfortable laugh, and I give a weak smile. "Forget about it. Tyler told me he will arrange a reception next week," Liza brings the tea for us.

"Yea, he told me too but I don't want this reception," I say, taking the cup of tea from the table.

"He wants it. Not everything goes the way we want it," Mom says and my phone rings. It's Ava calling. I totally forgot she is outside.

"Oh, mom sorry but I was here to take some stuff. Ava is outside, waiting for me," I say getting up.

"So ask her to come in," Mom says and I shake my head. "No, I'd just leave. I'll come later," I say hurriedly. The truth is the more I'll be here, the more I'd want to stay, making it harder for me leave and that is not what I want right now.

I pick up the call and tell Ava to give me 5 minutes. I grab a few of my books and other stuff and my light blue bike.

We spent the rest of the day in Ava's house, watching the movies. We also invited Zach, but he was busy.

I return home and go to the kitchen to see Jonah sitting on the counter eating which looks like pasta. He is wearing a yellow plain t-shirt over blue jeans. He sees me for a second and goes back on using the phone while eating.

Trin is in the kitchen. "Oh, Hazel. Dinner is ready. Do you want to eat?" she asks.

"No, I have already had dinner but can you make me a cup of tea?" I say and she nods. "Okay, I'll be back in a minute," I go to the room to change, wearing my pink P'j and a shirt.

"Is it ready?" I ask as I go back. Jonah is still there, standing next to the counter.

"Oh no, Jonah asked me to make him coffee. I'll make the tea now,"

"Okay," I sit on the counter chair.

"Make me the coffee again. You added sugar in it. Who the fuck does that," he says and I frown. What is wrong with him?

"Okay?" Trin says with a nervous expression. She is also not used to Jonah's harsh attitude.

"Can you make me first please Trin?" I say irritably.

He rolls his eyes. "It's my house so you are making me first," he says, looking at Trin.

"Excuse me, but for now it is not just your house. I live here too," I say angrily. I couldn't help it.

"Ok please don't fight. I'll make for both," Trin says awkwardly.

"So what's taking you so long. Make it," Jonah says harshly.

"I'll make myself," I mumble and get up. Under his gaze, I boil the water in a kettle.

"Who the hell drinks this much sugar?" he says as I put two spoons of sugar in the cup. Yes, I like my tea sweet. I roll my eyes at him, ignoring him.

He leaves taking his cup ofcoffee. "Who the hell drinks this much sugar," I say imitating him, Trin givesa small smile as I pour the boiling water into the cup.
