Hazel POV:

Ava pulls me through the crowd.

"Hey watch out," A guy says who I accidentally pushed and I am pretty sure his drink fell off.

"Sorry," I mumble though I know he can't hear me over the loud music.

"Hello, Elijah," Ava says reaching them and the attention of the entire group turns to us except Jonah who has a phone in one hand and a cigarette in his other.

"Oh, Hy Ava," Elijah says in her high-pitched voice. "Long time no see," she says crossing her legs. She is wearing a tight short skirt and a red top, her long platinum blonde hair is perfectly straight and her face shines with the amount of makeup she has on it. "Come on join us," Ava became friends with Elijah a few months ago just so she could get a chance to be around Jonah but too bad she never got one.

I withdraw my gaze to Ava who gives me a pleading smile. I sigh in defeat and we both sit on the spare chairs next to the pool.

"This is Ava, if any of you not know," Elijah tells her friends.

"Course, I remember," Lauren says and takes a sip of drink from the plastic cup in her hand. She dyed her shoulder-length hair pink. Last time I saw her it was blonde.

"And she is Hazel, Ava's friend," Elijah introduces me, with an amusing smirk on her face.

"Hy," I stutter. I am never confident around people, being introvert sucks sometimes.

Except Jonah, all of them look up at me but didn't greet. Rude. I look up at Ava angrily and she gives me an apologetic look. Ava might be friends with them or has a personality to hang out with them but I don't. Even my glasses are the subject of amusement for them.

I examine the entire group. Next to Lauren is sitting Corbyn, drinking liquor directly from the bottle, a circle tattoo around his arm is visible. He is wearing a plain white t-shirt and his blonde hair combed over, looking greasy. He must have applied a lot of hair gel.

Next to him is Jonah, he slowly pulls the cigarette to his mouth and inhales. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke; It gives me a headache. I am tolerating these people just for Ava because she was really excited about the party.

How do people smoke cigarette knowing that thing can kill them?

I sit here and stare at him in distrust.  He even got piercings on the left side of his lower lip, nose, and ears. He didn't have them in school. He probably has tattoos which are hidden under his black jacket. His hair is dark as well as his profile. He frowns as he scrolls his thumb on the phone screen. A bruise is visible on his left eye and lower lip. He is wearing a chain with a small silver padlock resting on his chest.

"What are you staring at?" I hear him say in his deep voice and I take a while to realize he is talking to me

"I-I was. N-nothing," I gulp and his full, slightly pink lips turn into a smug smirk which changes my nervousness into irritation. He might be used to girls staring at him but I am not that girl.

I look away in embarrassment and see Ava staring at me in confusion. I give her a questionable look. "Why don't I get us something to drink," she says.

"Yeah, let's go," I say to her. I don't want to sit with them any longer than I have to.

"No, I'll be back in a minute just tell me what you want," I for a second look at everyone in the group. Elijah and Lauren are giggling at something

Corbyn nudges Jonah, showing him something on his phone. Seriously, why are they even sitting together when all they have to do is use their phone? How obnoxious.

"Let me come with you," I insist.

"I am just going to get a drink. I know what you like to drink. I'll be back in a minute," she says briskly and leaves. I sigh anxiously, debating whether to go with her or not.

I unintentionally adjust my glasses. Playing with my fingers in nervousness, I hope that Ava returns soon and not starts talking to someone she might find in the party.

Time is passing, Ava is not returning and I am glad no one has noticed me yet. I turn my head around to see if there is any sign of Ava but all I see is a crowd of people dancing, drinking and making out and Ava is nowhere between them.

"Hazel?" I hear Elijah.

Cursing in my head I turn my head to face her.

"Yes, Elijah," I say as politely as I can.

What do you think Elijah has to say to Hazel? Don't forget to comment and vote. xx

ATTENTION: I have changed the names of Daniel and Noah to their original names instead so now DANIEL is JONAH and NOAH is CORBYN, I am sorry for this confusion but I though it would be better
