Hazel's POV:

"What are you looking for," I turn around to see a guy standing. He is wearing a Green t-shirt tugged under his light blue jeans. His dark hair is messy. He is smiling, showing his perfect white teeth and there is a natural blush on his white cheeks.

"Water," I tell him.

He turns towards the Refrigerator, opens it and pulls out a small water bottle from it. I wouldn't get into someone's fridge without asking.

He hands me the water. "Thanks," I mumble and drink the water.

"I am Zach," he tells me in his gruff voice. I don't think I have seen him before.

"Hazel. I have never seen you here before,"

"Because I don't live in LA," he leans to the kitchen counter. "I am here to spend summers with my cousins. I am from Texas,"

"And who is your cousin?" I ask. I might know him/her.

"Elijah,"

I clear my throat stiffly. He is Elijah's cousin.

"I don't blame you if you don't like her," he says with a smirk. He probably saw the look of detestation on my face.

I take another sip of the water. "But she is your cousin," I raise my brows.

"That doesn't change the fact she can be a bitch sometimes," he says and I let out a small laugh

I spend the rest of the night talking to Zach. He tells me that this will be his final year of high school. He also really liked that I stood up to Jonah like that. By talking to him I find out we have many things in common and one of them is that we both hate Jonah.

Ava didn't even call. I head home at half-past eleven. Everyone is definitely asleep. I take a warm shower; I enjoy taking showers before bed. It relaxes me.

It went as an unexpected night for me. I almost made a new friend and got in to fight with Jonah and I am glad that in my high-school years I never get to talk to him because he doesn't deserve it and I don't either. I hope I won't get to see him or talk to him again.

Tired, I get into the bed, checking my phone one last time, there is still no call or message from Ava.

I wake up with a bright sunlight falling directly on my face through the window. I lightly rub my eyes and blink several times to clear my vision. Stretching my arms, I let out a yawn and take my phone from the side table to check the time.

10:30 A. M, it reads. I swiftly get up in a seating position. How can I sleep for so long? "Shit," I mumble groggily. Mom and dad would be mad. Today is Saturday and they like everyone on the breakfast table together. Shaking my head, I get up and head to the bathroom to wash my face. Tugging my hair into a loose ponytail I head downstairs, still in my blue and white sleeping suit.

"Good Morning," I say hurriedly entering the kitchen. Liza is cleaning up the counter.

"Good Morning," she replies.

"Where are mom and dad?" I ask cautiously. "Are they mad at me? I slept late last night. I don't even know when I turned off my alarm."

"They haven't eaten the breakfast," she says taking me by surprise.

I raise my brows in disbelief. "But why?"

"I don't know. Mrs. Camilla came and asked about you. They didn't let me wake you up. She said they'd have breakfast when you'll wake up," she tells.

"Is everything okay," I ask bewildered. This has never happened before. Either I have done something wrong or they have.

"I don't know but she seemed tense,"

I give her a weak smile. "Something is not right," I mutter to myself.

"Okay, I'll go tell them I am up. Then we'll find out what's wrong,"

"Okay, I'll set up the table in the meantime,"

I nod and head to mom and dad's room, down the hallway. Now I am feeling anxious. They always either get pissed or ignore me for a while when I don't have breakfast with them on a Saturday morning but never skip it for me.

Its Friday so here is the new chapter. What do you think is wrong with Hazel's parents?
