Chapter 16.

Hazel's POV:

I need to get away from here. Zach raises his brows. "Why?"

What do I tell him that my parents got me married to this creepy boy sitting in front of us for some business deal while I am still 18! Corbyn knows but I don't know if others do or not. "Nothing, just bored," I shrug it off.

"Do you want a drink?" I ask Zach, seeing his empty hands and since I don't want it.

"Yeah sure," he takes the cup from me and takes a sip.

"Are you two a thing?" Elijah interrupts us. I look at her.

"No Elijah. We are just friends," says Zach. 

"Yeah, and we are dumb. Look at you two cuties, sharing drinks, secret talks," I roll my eyes. I am not mad I want to laugh at her. 

"Who the fuck told him?" Jonah says loudly, gaining our attention. He shows Corbyn something on his phone.

"I don't know bro," Corbyn says defensively.

"Then who the hell did?" Jonah says darkly looking at his friend's group.

"What?" Lauren asks.

Jonah and Corbyn look at me. Why are they looking at me? I widen my eyes in half confusion and half fear.

"What's going on?" Zach says cautiously.

"You shut up," Jonah snaps at Zach and his phone dings again. He looks and I am startled to see a fear flashes on his face for a second before it is again replaced by anger.

"What happened?" Corbyn asks.

"Fuck," he cusses before throwing a bottle in his hand on the wall. I hear a few gasps in the room. I wince. I can feel my heart thumping. He gets up and leaves followed by Corbyn.

"Party is over," Corbyn announces hurriedly before leaving.

"What the hell happened?" Elijah says but every one of us is too shocked to speak and I stunned and worried about why they were looking at me?  Ava and I share questionable looks.

Elijah tells everyone to leave so only Elijah, Lauren, Ava, Zach and I are left.

"Why was he looking at me Ava?" I whisper to Ava sitting on the couch while the other three are asking people to leave.

"I don't know?" she whispers back.

"Hell, I am going to see what's going on," Elijah says and leaves, Lauren follows her.

"What do you think should we go as well?" Zach says and Ava and I nod.

When we reach the parking lot we are surprised to see Jonah and Corbyn there. Jonah yelling at the phone.

"I know you were into this. You planned this against me. I swear I am gonna murder you. You don't fucking know how bad I can get," he hangs the call as the car enters the lot. My eyes blinded by its bright yellow light before the engine stops.

As it stops a boy comes out of it with curly blonde hair and buzzcut. He has a long neck and various tattoos on his arms. He also has a lot of piercings.

"Bold of you you to show up here alone," Jonah speaks darkly, taking a step closer to him while the rest of us looks at them.

"Because I know you can't do anything right now. I have something that can ruin your life," he says with a smirk. "and you are married," he says sardonically, clapping "another weakness," he adds.

"Married?" Zach whispers questionably.

"What?" Lauren says. So only Corbyn knows.

Jonah moves closer to the guy and before I can process, he lands a punch on his face. He fell on the ground and Jonah moves on top of him and hits him again.

I widen my eyes, desperately want to leave.  I remember this guy. He is Jack from school. He was also our senior and remember Jonah always used to fight him.

"Hey Jonah stop," Corbyn says, pulling him over Jack whose nose is bleeding.

"Let me go Corbyn. I would fucking kill him," Jonah yells making me wince.

Jack let out a laugh spitting the blood out of his mouth. He gets up and his gaze lands on me. Feeling alarmed, I only want to get away from here. He chuckles.

"She is pretty," he speaks and everyone's eyes fall on me making me feel vulnerable. All I want is to disappear in thin air.

I look at Jonah who is also looking at me with his bloodshot eyes.

"Leave her out of it," Jonah finally speaks.

"What the hell is going on?" Elijah interrupts.

"Oh, you don't know. This pretty girl right here is Jonah's wife,"

"What?" Lauren and Elijah say in unison.

Jonah tries to move close to Jack again. "Don't," Jack says raising his hand. "If you try to move closer, the pictures are out

What pictures? 

"What if I break your phone," Jonah says.

"Do you think I don't have more photos?"

"And what if I burn your house down," Can he do this is the first question that pops up in his head.

Jack let out a laugh and Jonah clenches his jaw, showing his perfect jawline. "Let's have a deal,"

"Yeah, the deal would be good so you two can stop fighting all the time," Corbyn says quickly.

"I'll tell you about the deal later, Wood," he gives one last glace to me, gets into his car and drive away. Leaving the rest in utter shock.
