(*SONG IN SIDEBAR*)
I couldn’t help but stare; he was cuter than my memory had depicted him. Instantly my eyes were drawn to his, as the fairy lights above emphasized them with a sparkle. Dressed in red jeans and a black shirt he certainly stood out. How the hell could I have missed him? His hair was shaved at the sides and gelled; it was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. His lips looked smooth and soft, and for just a second I wondered what they would feel like against mine. A light breeze hit us, carrying with it his sweet, recognisable scent. Butterflies formed in my stomach. My night was definitely looking good.
“Here’s your phone Cinderella…” He laughed as he reached for his lost phone. My hand brushed his for an instant and chills rushed through my body. Call me lame, but I already liked Julian.
We walked around the almost deserted music stalls and stages as the sun began to rise. It was nice, everything was simply effortless; he understood me, and I understood him. Each minute I was beginning to become more grateful of those stupid kids that had pushed me over. I didn’t even care that I’d been awake for hours on end, because for the first time in months I was actually enjoying something. I couldn’t have told you the time for the life of me; it felt like an eternity since we first met, and honestly I didn’t want it to end. But deep down, I knew that this fairy tale would have to end eventually.
“Julian, it’s getting pretty early, we should probably leave soon.”
He turned to face me; I avoided his eyes in an effort to stick to my decision to leave.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right, I’ve probably got your Mother worried sick about you, sorry.” That was cute of him. “And mine too I suppose.”
Time slowed as we stood motionless together.
His suave tone cut through the silence, “Well, will I get to see you again after this?”
“I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
His smile remained in my mind as I walked home.
