Haruka Yoshida. An odd sight to see within the Yoshida compound. She walked about with a fire in her eyes, a warming fire. Her head held high and the small hint of a smile. She truly was a fish out of water.Caspian Yoshida. The head of the Yoshida Clan. He stood tall and mencaing. Cold, green, eyes could freeze ones heart at a glance. He was a mystery. There was no anger written on his face but there wasn't any happiness either.
Who would have thought they would marry and be having their second child. Here they are, in a cozy, warm room. Haruka laid, weakly and tiredly in bed, holding her second born child everso tightly.
"A girl..." Caspian notes, staring down at the helpless bundle. A girl born only a year later from her older brother. "She's different."
Ignoring the comment, Haruka smiles up her husband and asks, "Do you want to hold her?"
Cautiously, he steps forward. It was almost as if the stone cold leader was actually afraid of hurting the baby. Before he can reach his wife however, the door opens and he stops in his tracks. An elder and a younger man, staring at Haruka with obvious dislike.
"Father." Caspian, respectfully acknowledges. Haruka on the other hand, defensively stares at him.
"We're keeping tabs on it." The elder imforms them. "Those green eyes. That chakra. The perfect weapon. She will be of great use to the clan if she can refrain from destroying us all."
"My child is not weapon." Haruka grits her teeth, "She isn't at your disposal. I won't allow it."
"It's not your choice. This child can gravelly impact the lives of the Yoshida." He argues, "When we sealed that beast in her, she automatically became one with it. It wasn't our plan to sacrafice her, but if she is a problem I'll make sure she's either banished or killed."
"Don't fight us on this, Haruka." The younger man advises, "That child you cling to is a curse. Those green eyes, all the children in the head family have them. It represents the dark chakra that makes them powerful. Do you really think that dark chakra will be compatible with the beast?"
"Indeed," The elder adds, "If we don't watch it well, it might just release it within our walls. We want the child, we want to test what she's capable of."
Haruka glares back at them through her icy, blue eyes. She held on to her daughter as if she was her last breath of air. The younger man steps forwards, and Caspian who was quiet up until now steps in to stop him.
"No." He orders, "You will not take my child as a lab rat."
His father glares at him, "What is the meaning of this?"
"Father, with all due respect, I don't approve of your orders. I will keep watch over her and I will make sure she is of no threat. She will live up to her potential. Jinchurriki or not, she is still a child of the head family." Caspian says, monotonous, yet there was an underlying confidence.
"And if it fails?" The elder raises a sharp brow, having no bit of of faith for this new being.
"I will personally exile her." Caspian answers, his fist clenched behind his back.
"No, you will do more than just that." The elder shakes his head. "You will eliminate it."
Silence. There was no sympathy, no mercy for the innocent child in the room. The older man couldn't feel any remorse at his cruel treatment towards the baby. "Say it."
"I will eliminate her."
The elder smirks and he heads out of the door, satisfied with his son's response. Before he steps out, he stops and look over his shoulder. "Also, Caspian. Do not love these children. You will be weak and this clan is not in need of a weak leader."
With that the two take their leave, closing the door and leaving the couple alone with their child.
"I'm sorry, Haruka." Caspian sighs, looking back at the two.
"It's not your fault." She shakes her head, then breaks into a smile. "She needs a name. I named Basil, how about you come up with something for once."
Caspian, ponders at his wife, slightly shocked. Her smile, why is it there? The life of her child was just threatened, yet she can still smile. But, he knew better, he saw the pain and concern in her eyes. She was smiling for their baby, she was counting her blessings.
Then he looks at the small baby in her arms. He now has yet another life to look after. He was afraid, afraid of not being enough. Afraid that he will fail the life he just bet on. For a second, he looks into her green eyes and guilt overtook his heart.
"Caspian?" Haruka calls.
He stares at his wife and back at the child. He remembers her favorite flower and had no second thoughts, "Lily. We'll call her Lily."
