°• F for Caroline, Chat •°
Short and weird were usually the two things people thought first when they met Damien. His almost orange hair stuck out even in the society of the abnormal, and dressing like a lavish drug dealer probably wasn't helping him lie low either. Despite this, he sat in a brightly colored coffee shop at 1 in the afternoon, drinking and iced tea and avoiding the gazes of questioning customers. He looked up with half lidded eyes, watching as a similarly dressed woman walked in, her eyes narrowing as an unsuspecting citizen walked within a three foot radius of her. She rolled her eyes and sighed, walking over to the booth Damien currently sat at. Sliding into the seat across from him, Yasu clasped her hands under her chin, her elbows resting against the tabletop.
"Cousin dearest, I hope the reason you harassed me here was for something of great importance because im technically supposed to be at U.A. to plan some class for... well I can't really remember when I'm supposed to give the class..." Yasu sunk into the backrest, her eyes never leaving Damien's frown.
"Yes, I simply always contact you at midday for my own amusement." He held back another sarcastic comment simply to save time. His actions created a small pit of dread within the back of her mind. Damien always had something to say, in fact, they had once exchanged insults for an hour straight.
Yasu tapped her foot against the creme colored floor, her eyes darting from her cousins troubled expression to the seemingly innocent people enjoying a simple drink. She felt her heart race and her fingers trembled ever so slightly. Something had happened, something, anything, and though she wasn't sure what it was it just possibly couldn't be good.
"Caroline is dead. She was murdered, and to be specific, mauled."
Yasu's eyes widened, her pupils shrinking and her mouth turning downwards into an expression of horror. One of her hands gripped the table tightly while the other massaged her temples.
"How- I mean- What? How could anyone have killed her? She was basically untouchable!" Yasu's voice lowered to a whisper, though her tone reeked of shock and horror. "To think I actually tolerated her and she just went and died on me like that! Oh- how inconsiderate of me... are you alright? I know you guys weren't close but she was your sister." Yasu wasn't particularly buddy-buddy with the now deceased ginger as of late, but the woman was essential to Yasu's success in her journey to becoming a hero, and in the time she had known Caroline, nobody had ever been able to make a scratch on her. When you can teleport and phase through objects it's slightly difficult to be stabbed, you know?
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just a bit shaken up... I'll be fine." Doubt laced the man's voice, though Yasu couldn't blame him.
"I need your help, though. Aiko and Akira have always managed to evade you, I know it had to be them, and I know you're busy, but with my help we might be able to finally catch them and put them away like you did with Miu. I know I've never been of any help with them before, and it was selfish of me to put myself before family just because I was scared, but they took one of the only people I could trust away from me and I can't stand by idly any longer. If not for Caroline- then for me?" Damien brought his hand up to the nape of his neck, his head hung low, shame and guilt filling his chest.
