Chapter eight: Trust

        Austin's P.O.V

        What the fuck?

        The memory of Jane has ended and now I sit on the edge of my bed.

        Jane's mom died when Jane was born. I think to myself. Will and his dad told me themselves.

        This is strange. If Jane's mom really was alive when Jane was little then why did she not remember? Why did Will and their dad tell me that? I need answers. The only ones who can give me answers is Will and Mr. Kindley. I get up and take a quick shower, then put on some jeans and a black shirt. I put my shoes on and walk out the house.

        Will's P.O.V

        I sit on the couch and continue to watch X men.Jane went out to the beach so she can have some time alone. The thought of her having to hide from Sophia hurts her so I didn't stop her when she walked out the house.

        There is a knock at the door and I pause the movie and go to the door. I open it and see Austin standing on the porch, he looks like he just saw a ghost.

        "Hey man," I say.

        "Don't 'hey man' me," He replies.

        "Austin is there something wrong?" I ask.

        "I know."

        "Know what?"

        "That your mom didn't die 16 years ago."

        My eyes widen. "How do you know that?"

        "It's a long story."

        "I have the time," I open the door wider so he can come in.

        We sit on the couch and Austin tells me about the dreams he's been having, dreams from Jane's past. When he's done I put my head in my hands.

        "Will what the fuck is going on?" Austin asks.

        I sigh. "When my mom had Jane she didn't die. She was fine. We were just starting school when a new family moved in across the street. When we got home from school me and Jane were playing in the front yard, a kid came up to us. His name was Henry Travis, he was my age and he didn't know anyone. Jane had offered him to play with us and he agreed. After that the four of us became the best of friends-"

        "Four?" Austin interrupts.

        "I had a twin brother, Simon. Can I continue?"

        Austin nods.

        "Anyways, we all used to hang out together after school. It went on like this for three years. One night we were all sleeping in the living room because Henry spent the night. At one in the morning I woke up to screaming. I opened my eyes and saw my mom and dad being held by a men, Simon, Jane and Henry were in the corner. The people saw I was awake and put me in the corner with the others. They were all wearing black masks, then a man and a woman had stepped in front of all the others and took off their masks. I noticed them, they were Henry's parents."

        ~9 years ago~

        "Hello everybody," Mr. Travis said.

        "Eddy?" Mrs. Kindley asked. "How could you?"

        "We had no choice," Mrs. Travis replied. "Our organization has been searching for people who have special abilities. Now we found three."

        Mrs. Kindley looked frightened. She had no idea that they were looking for people like her, Simon, and Jane. Though Jane had showed little signs of special abilities Mrs. Kindley knew that Jane had more power than herself.

        Eddy pointed to Simon and Jane. "Grab those two."

        Two men walked up to the children and grabbed both Jane and Simon by their arms. Both of them tried to get out of the grips but couldn't.

        "Grab Gwen as well," Mrs. Travis said.

        The man holding Gwen stepped forward with her. Mr. Kindley tried to get to his wife but ended up with a punch to his jaw.

        "Daddy!" Jane had screamed.

        At that moment Simon had touched the arm of his captivator and the man was burned. The man let out a yell and hit Simon's head. Simon fell to the carpet unconscious.

        "You son-of-a-bitch!" Gwen yelled. She was about to hurt the man but Eddy put a gun to Jane's head.

        "If you try anything Gwen Jane dies." He said in a cold voice.  

        Gwen stopped struggling and Eddy took the gun off of Jane.

        "Get them to Zenus."

        ~End of flashback~

        Austin stares at me, I cannot see the expression in his eyes.

        "Austin?" I say.

        "What happened?" Is all he says.

        I shake my head. "I don't know. Me and dad went out to try and look for them but we didn't. We searched until sunrise, when we went home we found the house clean as if nothing had happened. Jane was asleep on the couch. She woke up and didn't remember a thing about what happened a few hours ago. When dad mentioned mom Jane said, '" Mommy died when I was born."' "

        "So she didn't remember anything about your mom, or Simon?"

        "No. Dad thinks that when they took them they had no use for Jane. I think that my mom planted a different memories into Jane's brain, thus shoving all of the real ones to a space in her brain where she doesn't even know about." I explain. "A year after that Jane started to show more and more signs of her abilities, they mostly happened when she was emotional."

        Austin stands up, "You have been lying to Jane her whole life."

        "We have to. She would fall apart if she knew the truth. Probably try and kill herself again."

        "She deserves to know!" Austin snaps.

        "Let me ask you something." I say calmly. "Do you love her?"

        "Of course I do."

        "So do me and my dad. That is why I am asking you to trust me and not tell Jane anything." I'm begging Austin now.

        Austin takes a deep breath and nods. "Okay. I trust you."

        HEY! SO HOW DO YOU LIKE THE BOOK SO FAR?? IN THIS CHAPTER YOU LEARNED ABOUT JANE'S BROTHER SIMON, IN THE NEXT CHAPTER I WILL HAVE ANOTHER SHOCKING DISCOVERY THAT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING. I PROMISED I WOULD MAKE THIS CHAPTER LONG AND I KEPT MY WORD.  ANYWAYS VOTE AND COMMENT!
