Chapter eighteen: The beatings

Henry's P.O.V

        When we arrive back at Zenus we're taken back to the cells. Instead of us being in the same cell they separate us. When we get to the first cell they put Mr. and Mrs. Kindley in it, they inject her with a green liquid though, most likely so she can't use her powers. They put Simon, Oliver, and  Austin together and they also inject Simon with the same liquid. After Will is injected they put him in a cell with Sophia, across from Oliver, Simon, and Austin. They throw me into the cell next to Simon, Oliver and Austin, and they inject a very confused Jane with the liquid and put her in the cell next to Will and Sophia, right across from me. 

        Once they close the cell door Jane looks around confused. "Jane? Are you alright?" 

        She turns to look at me and she stares at me for a long time, like she has never seen me before. 

        "Jane?" I ask again. 

        After a minute she talks. "Is that my name? Jane?" 

        Now I'm confused. "Jane, do you have any idea who I am?" 

        I hope with everything in me that she remembers, please remember Jane.

        "I'm sorry I don't know who you are." She tells me and I see in her eyes that she really is sorry. 

        "She can't remember a thing," I hear Mrs. Kindley say. "When her and William did the spell, all of her memories were hidden in her mind.

        "Can she regain those memories?" I heard Simon ask. 

        "I don't know," she answers truthfully.  "We will have to wait and see." 

        We don't have that kind of time. I think to myself. Eddy is going to kill her before we even know it.

        I look at Jane. She sits on knees with her head in her hands. For a moment a memory comes to me. When we were younger and she would be mad, sad, or confused she would sit like that. 

        "You used to do that when you were younger," I say without even knowing. She  lifts her head and looks at me. I continue, "Me and your brothers would always find you on the beach by your house, you were sitting just like you are now. After a while you would go back with us and the next day you'd go back."

        She still doesn't say anything but she smiles. Then she says, "Thank you."

Austin's P.O.V 

        After Henry told her that everyone tells her tiny things about her past, what she likes to do, what she likes to eat. Simon and Oliver even tells her about her powers. I lay on the bottom bunk, looking at the two of them sitting in front of the cell door.

        Why don't I say something to her? Because I don't know what to say. I mean sure I dated her and knew her for at least five years before that. But that just seems different to what everyone else has with her. At least three hours go by and everyone has lied down for the night. I lay on the bottom bunk and close my eyes.

Jane's P.O.V

        Everyone continues to tell me things about myself, even though they're trying to help, I still can't remember anything. After a while they stop talking and lay on the beds. I get on the top bunk and lay there looking at the dark ceiling. I try my hardest to think about the things everyone told me but nothing comes into my mind. This is point less. I know everyone's name and barely mine. I close my eyes and find some sleep.
