Austin's P.O.V

When I get home I take a quick shower and lay in bed. Mom comes to get me for dinner but I just tell her I'm not hungry and she leaves. Dad tries to get me to go eat and I say the same to him too. I don't want to see anyone. I have a black eye thanks to that bastard Henry, why the hell was he with Jane? He had no business being there. Jane must know him really well if she protected him. I shake away all of my thoughts and close my eyes. In no time I fall asleep.

I'm standing in the meadow again, but this time there is a different Jane standing in front of me. I know how old she is, 15. She wears the same white dress but it stops right below her knees, her jet black hair is in a side braid, Jane went that entire year wearing a side braid.

        "Hey Austin," she says.

        I don't answer.

"I know you were around me when I was this age but there's one thing that you didn't know. Something that I didn't even know, but I need you to see it." She tells me.

I nod my head and the landscape changed. We were on top of the cliff, it's midnight at least, and the waves  crash against the cliff. I look to my side where Jane stands next to me. She points in front of us and I turn my head to see. Another Jane walks out of the woods and walks towards the cliff. She stops just two feet away from the edge, and she just looks down at the water. What is she doing? I walk and stand beside her, I take a look at her face, her eyes are distant like their not even seeing where she's at. She's sleep walking.

I try to touch her shoulder and my hand goes right through her body. I forgot this is a memory. She takes a small step forward putting her right on the edge. I watch her for a moment waiting for her to make a move. And then something happens, someone else comes out of the woods. Will walks next to Jane, he's not sleep walking he's fully awake.

"Jane," he says. "You need to come home. Right now."

Jane turns around and looks at Will, she blinks and her eyes aren't dark blue anymore, they're a golden hazel. A voice that isn't Jane's comes out of her mouth.

"My dear sweet William," the voice says. "Look at how much you've grown."

"Mom?" He says. I can see the surprise in his eyes.

Jane nods. "This is the only way I can communicate with you. She doesn't know what's happening to her. I just wanted to see you my dear child."

"But I can't see you," Will says.

Something comes out of Jane, a soul, Jane's body falls to the ground and in her place stands her mother. Mrs. Kindley is practically glowing and you can't even see through her body.

"I know you have many questions my dear boy," she tells him. "But you need to take Jane home and forget that this happened."

"How will I forget?" Will asks her.

She walks to Will and puts her hand on his shoulder. He looks at her and his eyes start to become distant, "Mom?"

"I love you William." And just like that she was gone. Will blinks and he looks around confused. His eyes land on Jane and he picks her up and walks back to the house.

My eyes open and I look around the room. I look at the time on my phone, 3:50. I sit up with my head in my hands. What the hell am I supposed to do with these damn memories? Why do I have to be the one to see this stuff? I lay back down and fall back to sleep.

I'm in the meadow again, but no one is there with me. I call out Janee's name but there's no answer. Finally I see the white dress then another, and another. In front of me stands Jane, when she was 6, 10, 13, and 16. They stand in front of me they all look right at me smiling.

"The dreams are the key," 16 year-old Jane tells me. "When you figure it out you'll be able to help."

"Bye Austin," 13 year-old Jane says.

They all disappear and leave me in the meadow. I stand there by myself for a while and then I wake up.

I get dressed and drive to Jane's house. On the way there I think of a way to apologize to Jane about yesterday. When I get to house I see Mr. Kindley's car in the driveway, Will's car is gone. He probably went to Sophia's house. I get out the car and walk to the door. I knock and the door opens a little by itself.

I walk inside and my eyes grow wide. The entire house looks like a tornado came through here. Picture frames are on the floor, glass everywhere. I run upstairs and go into Jane's room. It's trashed too. What the hell happened? Where's Jane?! I see the photo album on the floor and pick it up. I go back downstairs and am met by three men in black suits, I look at their waist belt. Guns.

"Who the hell are you people?" I ask them.

"We need you to come with us," the one in the middle asks.

"Why the hell would I do that?"

"Because you're not stupid." A man in black comes inside the house and steps in front of the three men. "My name is Eddie Travis. Nice to meet you Austin. Now I think you want to come with us."

"And if I don't want to?"

"Then we'll take you anyways," Eddie tells me.

I look around the room, I can run past the four of them and get to my car. I look at the ground, there's a piece of glass the size of my foot. I kneel down and act like I'm tying my shoe. I grab it.

"Come on now," Eddie says. "You won't be harmed."

I stab Eddie in his thigh and he yells in pain. I grab the album and run past the other two. I make it halfway to my car when I hear the gunshot and the bullet enters my left shoulder. I go down and and try to keep going but someone grabs my arms and handcuffs me.

"You should've listen," Eddie tells me.

I look up at him and he hits my head with the bottom of his gun.

        I fall to my side.

        Everything goes black.
