The client explained that our job was to retrieve a valuable necklace, worth one million jewels, that was stolen by some thieves. The reward was the same amount as the necklace's worth. One million split eight ways would be...my brain hurts but I know it's a lot. After our meeting with the client, we sat around our hotel room discussing how we were going to steal the necklace back.
"Why don't we just beat them up and take the necklace?" Gray asked. "That is a good plan but I'm afraid they might run off with the necklace before we can get to it so I propose another plan" Erza replied and then looked at me and Lucy. "Why is she looking at us?" I asked Lucy nervously. "I don't know but I am worried" she replied and took a step back.
"You can't be serious! That plan will never work, especially with Flame Brain involved!" Gray argued after hearing Erza's plan. I felt offended and hissed at him. "Do you oppose to my plan?" Erza asked with a threatening tone and deadly aura. Gray went pale and trembled. "N-Now that I think a-about it, it's a g-great plan" he replied. I looked at him with a smirk and he noticed. "You better wipe that smirk off your face Pinky before I smack it off you myself" he said as he pointed and glared at me. I chuckled and stuck out my tongue at him before retreating under the couch. "Get back here you coward!" he shouted and tried reaching for me under the couch. Being small has its advantages.
He kept trying to reach for me while I kept pulling faces at him. We were like this for a few minutes when suddenly Lucy screamed "NATSU!" It sounded like she was in trouble so I bolted out from under the couch. "What is it Lucy?! Are you alright?!" I urgently asked as I whipped my head around to find the threat but she sat calmly where she was before. I ran over to her, "what's wrong? Where's the threat?" I asked. She giggled, "there aren't any" she replied. "What? Then why did you scream?" I asked. "Erza tried to stop you both but you wouldn't listen so she asked me to help" she replied and I pouted. "I can't believe you tricked me" I muttered and then I was picked up by the scruff of my neck.
"Stop picking me up Ice Princess and put some clothes on!" I hissed at him. He somehow stripped into his boxers between the time he was trying to catch me and now. "We don't have time to squabble. Put him down, we have a job to do" Erza said. Gray groaned and put me down but picked up Lucy in his hand instead. "Give her back!" I shouted as I repeatedly jumping up at him. He smirked down at me and I decided to take matters into my own hands. I ran at his bare feet and scratched him. "Ow!" he exclaimed and dropped Lucy. I ran under her and broke her fall but I'm pretty sure I also broke some bones.
"Thanks for breaking my fall Natsu" she said as she climbed off me. "No...problem" I slightly groaned as I slowly stood up. I stretched and all the pain disappeared. 'I guess I didn't break any bones after all' I thought. "Are you finished with this nonsense? We need to begin our search for these thieves" Carla said. "Aye!" Happy said in agreement, he always agrees with her. He'll even say anything as long as you bribe him with fish. "Lets head out" Erza said, "aye!" everyone replied.
As we were searching for the thieves' hideout in the forest, I was pouting while laying on Happy's head. We had split into two groups and Erza insisted Lucy sit on her shoulder. The annoying thing was that Gray was in Erza's group while I was stuck with Wendy, Carla and Happy. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with being in a group with them except that Gray is in a group with my Lucy without me. Erza says Lucy and I need some time apart but I disagree. Even though I'm not happy being separated with Lucy, I trust her to not to cheat on me with Ice Princess so I'll let it slide this time but he better keep her safe.
When we were both human, I wasn't so overprotective of Lucy but with both of us turned into kittens, I feel I have to keep her close so I can protect her. I know Taka and Saiki are out there somewhere and are probably watching us. At least we've captured their hawk so they can't use him to snatch up Lucy again.
After two hours of searching, we saw the Fairy Tail symbol firework made out of Gray's ice magic explode in the air meaning they found the hideout. We met them back at the meeting place which was the in front of our hotel. "You found their hideout?" Carla asked, "yeah, they have an underground hideout. We found the entrance when two men were wondering behind a waterfall" Gray explained. "We will storm their hideout tonight and begin our plan. Hopefully most of the thieves will be asleep by the time we strike" Erza said. We went back to our hotel room to wait until nightfall.
The plan is for Lucy and I to sneak into the thieves' hideout, find the necklace and take the necklace back to the others without being caught. Erza said if we all stormed the hideout then some may escape with the loot they've stolen and take the necklace with them.
"This is so cool Lucy! We get to be nin-jas" I said, trying to sound cool and she giggled. If only I had my scarf then I cover my face like a ninja. "Yeah and remember Natsu, ninjas are supposed to be stealthy" she warned. "Yeah, yeah I know" I said with a big toothy grin. While we were waiting, I got bored and decided to wrestle Lucy. She played along with our game and I kept winning. After that we played a few rounds of tag and surprisingly Lucy was faster than me, although I'm sure it's because she's had more experience being a kitten.
Time flew by and it was time to become ninjas. "Are you two ready?" Erza asked me and Lucy. "Aye!" we replied but I'm sure it sounded like a meow to them. With that, we headed towards the thieves' hideout.
