there is a difference between existing and participating in someone's life.
we don't take interest in each other, unless it directly affects us or instills personal benefit.
it seems as though our world as a whole has become increasingly inclined to just exist like that. and we aren't there for each other, really, because you can't truly express compassion over the phone.
I'm finding it very difficult to decipher what is a real connection anymore.
