There she was. Annie Leonhardt. Awake and already crying. I can't blame her though. She's been through so much. She's been accused of things she's never done. Forced to murder people she wanted to become "friends" with. Yeah, that's Annie Leonhardt. The girl with the most kills. The girl that I supposedly ever made smile. Also the only girl I ever hated and cared for at the same time.

-

"Annie?" Hanji questions.

Annie looks at Hanji and wipes her tears. She tries standing up but is still too weak.

"Stay down." Hanji offers. "You'll have to stay here a little longer anyways."

Annie bows her head. It looks as if she wants to speak but can't release any words out of her gaping mouth.

Levi glares at her. It's a glare that has sorrow, rage, and remorse all at the same time.

"After I ask you some questions" Hanji fixes her thin glasses. "We'll clean you up and bring you to a cellar-"

She was cut off by Levi. "And don't even think about transforming. I'll cut you up right here, even if a knife is all I have."

Annie doesn't hesitate. I don't even think she has the energy in her to transform.

Armin looks at Hanji. He and Hanji then walk a little closer to Annie.

"Your origin, Annie?" Hanji interrogates.

Silence.

"Where are you from?" Armin softly asks.

She looks down at her hands. I don't think she's willing to cooperate.

"I have nothing to lose, so why not answer honestly.... Marley..." she softly answers. Her voice is scratchy and low.

"I might've thought so. And do you have any family back there?" Hanji writes down notes.

"...j...just my father..." Annie rubs her head. "But since I didn't return I can't tell whether he's still alive or not."

Hanji nods. "And how many Titan years do you have left?"

Annie looks confused. "How long... was I in there?"

Hanji smirks. "Roughly 10 to 11 months is all I could say..."

Annie looks at us. "About 6-8 years then... I'm not entirely sure... is that all?"

Armin shakes his head. "I have a couple of questions."

...

"Tell me" Armin adjusts his throat. "Why did you choose to not come with us underground and work things out back at Stohess? I'm sure you knew our plan. But it wasn't our intention in any way to hurt you."

Annie smiles a little. It was a sad smile.

"I knew that if I went down there, I'd still feel the same way as I do now. Nothing would have changed..."

"What about helping us? Why did you decide to help us if you knew this was some sort of trick?" Armin asks.

"You were friends to me. And like I said I had nothing to lose anyways. And if helping you made me a better person then to hell with it." She sighs.

Armin nods and writes information in his small notebook. "And what about the fight with Eren? Why did you choose to give up the fight and try to escape over the wall?"

I sigh. Why is he asking such questions?

She looks at the shattered crystal. "Because, I saw what was around me. What I was doing. I didn't want more of that..."

"Okay. And one more." Armin says as he writes information down. "When you were about to be eaten, it seemed you were trying to merge with Eren's Titan. Why would you try and do this?"

She touched her golden blonde hair. "Hm... it was my other way out of this mess. Though I wouldn't be able to tell which one of us would take on the merged Titan. To tell you the truth. If I had taken over I would have doubled my chances of escaping. I would have gotten back home. I would have Eren with me. And I would have been praised. But now, I'm still stuck in this hell hole and in deeper shit." She looks away.

Hanji nods and snaps her fingers. "Alright, lets get her ready."

I look over at Hitch and Boris who is now there too. They come and help Annie up and take her away. Annie doesn't even hesitate.
