As Hitch brought me new clothes and led me to the shower, I wondered why they were being so nice to me. Was it because I used to be friends with them?
-
I washed up in the shower and put on the clothes I was given. The shirt was a plain baby blue long sleeve shirt. It was pretty big so I pushed up the sleeves a bit. The pants were light gray sweatpants. You would have thought that my enemies would give me some garbage. But they were being, kind.
-
I was guided to my cell. It was deep underground and surrounded by stone. Hitch and Boris had depressed looks on their faces as they cuffed my hands. My arms hung on each side of me. This ensured that I couldn't try and transform. The only time I would be let go of was the bathroom, eating, or the court trial.
-
It was quiet most of the time. The guards switched every hour or so. One time it was Hitch. I wanted to ask her questions, but I knew deep inside that no matter how close I was to her, she wouldn't give me any answers.
-
I heard the heavy, thick wooden doors push open.
The guard, Boris, looked at the figure who opened the door. I only saw their shadow."Can I help you?" Boris questioned.
A familiar voice answered with. "Yeah, I'm here to speak with Annie. By Hanji's orders."
Boris nodded. "Should I leave the two of you alone? Or?"
"Take a break." The voice echoed.
Boris looked back at me then picked up his gun and left the room. The figure waited until the doors were shut completely and then made their way to my cell.
They leaned against the side of the cell. Their was a wall they leaned against right by the gate of the cell.
I couldn't see who it was though."Why'd you do it?" They asked.
I didn't answer because the question was too general.
"Annie. Why did you abandon the fight in Stohess?"
"I..." my voice was still weak, "I don't know..."
"No Annie you don't. You don't know anything. You don't know why you went into the crystal and you don't know how to do that. You don't know how to talk to people. Negotiate. But a smile on your face... but you do know how to fight."
I looked at the shadow of the figure.
"You taught me how to fight. You taught me how to live. To not be a pawn. If it weren't for you, I may be in Marley right now. Probably eaten already."
I raise a brow. "What... what do you mean you would have been in Marley by now?"
"The day Reiner and Bertholt showed us who they really were..." They stopped.
They took a deep breath, "I felt that when I was about to die, I remembered our training. I thought it was my life flashing before my eyes. I don't know why that moment came up with you and Mikasa about to fight... Maybe it was some sort of sign? Two of the strongest people I know, like history repeating itself, except this time with me and Reiner... I guess we're all natural enemies..."
My eyes widened. Who are you?
I bowed my head.
"Thank you, Annie."
"Your Welcome, Eren."
