I slip on my Wings of Freedom coat.

I don't get any vibes or memories walking down this hall. Maybe it's because I never actually got to see Annie... in her crystal at least.

"Annie isn't exactly in her present state. She hasn't aged, nothing new is presented." Hanji fixes her collar.

Levi bows his head as if he is remembering something. Or someone.

"You know... if Annie isn't put to treason, this could be a huge benefit for humanity." Armin smiles and looks over at me.

"Another suicidal maniac..." Jean scoffs.

Mikasa glares at him, "Jean, enough."

Why was Mikasa standing up for Annie? I thought she didn't like her?

We exit our campus building and after a small carriage ride to a gate, we head into the square. There is a building which is owned by the MP's. Hitch welcomes us in with a sorrowful look. She leads us to the shattered crystal.

"She's over here-" Hitch points to a couple of coats and blankets on the ground, almost like a bed. There lay sleeping Annie Leonhardt. Her hands were tied to her back, which made her sleeping position awkward.

I take a step towards her.

"Not just yet Eren." Hanji puts her arm in front of me. "This is Annie we're talking about." She had a disappointed look on her face. She took out her journal and started scribbling down notes. "Tell me, who was here when Annie's crystal broke?"

Hitch scratched her head, "Um, Boris I believe. He's not here though. He is on break." She gave us a teethed smile.

"And you made the bed for her? Or did he?" Hanji asked.

"Actually we both did. He immediately came outside for me and asked for assistance." She answered.

"And how exactly did she come out of her crystal?"

"Boris said it was like shattering glass. He was just casually guarding her and all of a sudden her crystal broke to pieces and she fell to the ground. He said she picked herself up and tried to attack him but seemed rather weak and passed out... again... heh."

Hanji asked a few more questions and wrote down the notes. My gaze turned to Annie. Armin was looking at her too. Almost as if he was analyzing her.

"Incredible..." Armin whispers.

I look at him and raise a brow.

"After all this time, she releases herself." His eyes widen.

"Yeah, odd."

"Do you think she could have done it because there was only one guard? And it was someone she knew?"

"Couldn't guess." I shrugged.

Armin turned back to Hanji. My gaze stayed on Annie. All of a sudden a cough emerged from her mouth. Then heavenly breathing and more coughing. Everyone looked at her. Her glossy eyes opened. She looked at us and tears formed in her eyes.
