I leave class 15 minutes early and head to Ms O'Neill's office in hopes of getting advice from her. As I approach her office, I notice a student walking out. I quickly ran to hide behind the recycling bin. I can't risk anyone seeing me go into the counselor's room, my reputation would be at stake. That's when I heard Ms. O'Neill say, "Angelina, you can come in now." I walked in with an awkward smile on my face, I was getting ready to speak, that's when she sternly pointed at the wooden seat and said, "Sit down."
I clenched the handle of my purse and took a seat, with a confused look on my face. I asked, "What did I do?" That's when she turns her head to the side a little and looked at me and said, "I don't have time for this, what happened in the bathroom?" I stared at Ms.O'Neill dead in the face and told her, "We were having an honest conversation." "Really, because that's not what Cylyss said. You say and do all of these things and still wonder why you're single." That's when I started to dig in my bag vigorously and pulled out a sparkly scrunchie. I gathered my wavy hair and place it in a high bun. I proceed to glare at Ms.O'Neill, "You say and do the opposite but you're still single."
That's when I quickly realized what I said and wished that I could take it back. I notice Ms. O'Neill started to look at her wedding ring, which she recently started wearing after her ex-husband and son had gotten into a horrible car crash. Her ex-husband was driving to O'Neill's house to drop her son off because it was her turn to look after him while he was going on a business trip. After they divorced, because she found out about his affair, they fought in court for their 4 year old son. She lost and had to give him up. When she heard about the crash she stopped wearing the ring. Ever since then she's been trying to adopt.
"Get out," I look up at her. "What?" She yells, "GET OUT! I have tried dealing with your temper, but I have had enough. I had hope for you, I tried to make you see the good of your situations. You crossed the line. Get out." I was honestly shocked. She has never not once dared to raise her voice at me. Why did I all of a sudden feel bad? "I'll be letting your teachers know that our sessions won't be held anymore. Only come by my office when you actually need me, otherwise try confiding in your friend Ace." She closed the door. I felt a little bit of my heart break. She didn't mean what she said, she's just mad. She'll cool down, right?
