"I just don't know what to do." I groaned, my hands tugging at the long strands of my hair- just another reminder that I desperately needed a haircut. Although, that was the last of my concerns at the moment.

It had only been a few days since I had convinced Alli to leave the hotel. I had thought the day had gone perfectly- she agreed to move in with me, and she was starting to act normal, or as normal as Alli could be. I had made sure to plan out everything, I even went as far to have Calum and Michael lowkey follow us around to keep an eye on anyone else who might be following us... or more specifically her. I had this idea that maybe if I could get her out in the open whoever had decided to torture her mind would follow us around, and in turn I was hoping that Mikey and Cal would be able to figure out who it was. Of course we had made it all the way to dinner with no problem, and I felt slightly guilty for making them watch over us all day so I texted them to go home. And of fucking course as soon as they leave something had to go wrong.

I had heard it the instant it starting going off- a damn camera clicking as though it were right in my ear. I had tried to play it off, holding her as tightly as I could in hopes that she would be too preoccupied with me to notice the shift in the atmosphere as someone was clearly paying attention to us. But nothing ever goes right- as soon as I had heard the first click she had too, immediately pulling away from me to frantically search around us. I still tried to play it off, even as my own eyes scanned the surrounding area. But I couldn't see anyone. Whoever was watching us was hiding in the shadows.

And of course, ever since then she had retreated back into her shell. She had reluctantly gone to work today, after I told her that she shouldn't keep calling out- especially after she had called out for an entire week when she refused to get out of bed. I wanted her to get back into her normal swing of things, but it clearly wasn't happening. I had walked her into the office, assuring her that I would be back before she got off so we could walk home together. She had practically begged me to stay, claiming that her boss wouldn't care if I sat at her desk as long as she did her work. She only allowed me to leave when I told her I would go back to her old apartment to get everything out for her so she wouldn't have to go back. She agreed, but I knew she wasn't happy about it.

I had spent the entirety of the morning, with Ashton's help of course, getting every last item out of that apartment. The second I stepped into the flat my nerves were set on fire. The hair on the back of my neck was instantly rising as I felt the odd sensation of being watched. I ignored it as I worked through the apartment, but I didn't actually feel my anxieties calm down until we had driven the large truck full of both Sara and Alli's things away from the complex.

Once we had gotten to Sara and Ashton's new apartment Sara had helped us get all of her stuff off the truck before they both came with me to help set up the new apartment. Mikey and Cal were busy in the living room, screaming at each other as they played some video game. I had about an hour until I had to leave to pick up Alli, but I was currently pacing the small area of floor that was not cluttered by the mess we created bringing in Alli's belongings. Not that I could really complain, seeing as since she already had a bed and dressers and a TV- among other things- that I didn't have to buy anything for our room. We just had to get it organized... but at the moment I couldn't care less about the state of the room.

"There's not much you can do, Luke." Sara said softly, her eyes following me walk back and forth from her spot on the bed- which just so happened to be the first thing we made sure was together. I had checked out of the hotel after walking Alli to work, so tonight would be our first night in the new apartment. Although I had a feeling it wasn't going to go how I had imagined our first night living together would go.

"I have to do something." I grumbled, once again tugging harshly at my hair. "The cops are literally no help and I can't watch her go back into her dark place... I just can't."
