I just closed my eyes for a second - a split second. I open them, after what seemed like a short nap - and six hours had gone by. I was in San Francisco.

I walked off the plane and got my luggage at the baggage claim, and I didn't know where to go next. I walked around the airport, clueless on what to do.

All the sudden I saw a small sign being held in the air that read: "Kamryn Collette."

Slowly, I walked over to the man in the suit. "Um, I'm Kamryn?"

"Oh, hello ma'am. I've been waiting for you. I was called by Mrs. Debbie at the request to take you to your mother's house." The fairly older man smiled sweetly. "I am Charles."

"Hi, Charles. Pleasure to meet you." I shook his fragile, wrinkled hand and he smiled.

"Shall we go? There is a long drive ahead of us to Calabasas."

I nodded and he helped me out with my luggage. He was such a sweet old man. He led me out to the car and I was surprised to see that it was a limo.... fancy. I guess I better get used to a fancy lifestyle; afterall, I am about to meet my mother who happens to be a Kardashian.

After the car was loaded and ready, we drove out of the crowded and busy airport parking lot.

I laid my head back and closed my eyes. I don't know what to expect with my new family. Will they like me? I am outgoing, and sometimes I speak before I think - but sometimes I am shy, especially around people I know don't accept me for me.

They are rich; they are famous; they have a big family; they are models. All the things I am not and never was.

I lived in a two bedroom, one bathroom apartment which I paid for myself since I was 12 and began my first job as a dog walkers and house cleaner after school hours. I never did well in school for that reason - I never got to study.

They are famous; the whole world knows their names. I, on the other hand, was lucky if someone cared to stop and help me when I had to drag my dad home because he was passed out from too much alchohol consumption.... when I was 14.

They have a noticeably large family and they all love each other so much. I had my dad and my dad only, unfortunately.

And last but not least- they are basically all models. I haven't had my picture taken since I was 12, besides for my job application or other things for school, etc. I do my shopping at thrift stores when I had the money to - which was a rare occasion.

In the end, me and the Kardashians are nothing alike. I have been told I could "be a Kardashian" but just because of my looks. I have dark hair, brown eyes, and tan skin.

But will my new family see beyond my outer looks and accept me for who I really am?

The thoughts of not being accepted tortured me until Charles said "We are here."
