Just like Before

Chapter 3

*GRACE POV*

Today Sammy, Hayes and I are going to the lake and I'm really excited. I haven't been in so long, and it will bring back memories from when we came to the same lake 4 years ago...

I put on my black bandeau bikini and threw my hair up in a messy bun. I grabbed my sunglasses after putting on shorts and a tank top over my swimsuit and headed downstairs.

"I got the towels can you get the waters?" Sammy asked me as she was putting some towels into a bag.

"Yeah sure." I nodded. I grabbed 3 waters from the fridge and put them in a small cooler with a few snacks also.

"Okay Hayes is ready." I said. Hayes just texted me that. "You ready to go now?"

"Yeah let me just get my sunglasses." she said. I slipped on my old flip flops and we headed outside.

We were jamming to music the whole time and then when Hayes got in my truck we goofed off.

"My goal today is to get somewhat tan." Sammy laughed.

"You need a tan? Look at me I'm a ghost!" I laughed. She playfully rolled her eyes and we all laid out our stuff.

"Who wants to jump in with me?" Hayes asked.

"Not now Hayes." I whined, scrolling through my social media. "What are you doing?" I asked him after a few minutes of silence. Hayes was trying to get me in a selfie with him.

"Stop I look gross right now!" I said.

"Come on you never look gross. You always look perfect." he smiled at me. I looked down and smiled. "You're an idiot." I laughed.

"Yes. An idiot who which you love." he joked. He cheekily smiled at me and I laughed.

"One picture." I said putting the emphasis on 'one'. He smiled and held up the phone. We just smiled for it.

"Aw it's so cute." I laughed. He laughed along with me and a few seconds later I got a notification on Instagram.

Hayes posted the picture and tagged me in it. He said, "back with an old friend❤️" I smiled to myself.

"Hayes, I never realized how much I actually missed you. I mean, I didn't think I missed you because it's been years but, right now, this makes me realize that I'm so happy we ran into each other." I explained to him.

"Me too. I really did miss you and I'm so happy we literally, ran into each other." we laughed and then noticed that Sammy was no where around us.

"Where did Sammy go?" he asked me. I shrugged my shoulders and I decided to text her. Before I did, she came walking up to us.

"Hey guys!" she smiled.

"Where were you?" I asked confused.

"I just went over there because you two were having a cute moment." she giggled.

"Sammy we were just talking." I laughed.

"Still. I always feel awkward around people like you two." she sat down with us.

"Still. It's not like you're a third wheel or anything." I said to her.

"You sure about that?" she looked back and forth between us and smirked.

*SAMMY POV*

We were all sitting down and Hayes arm accidentally brushed against Grace's side.

"That tickled." she giggled.

"Well in that case." he smirked as he started tickling her sides.

"HAYES STOP IT!! She laughed uncontrollably. She stood up and tries to get away but he stopped her by wrapping his arms around her from behind, lifted her up and spun her around. To be honest it was really cute.
