Just like Before

Chapter 6

*GRACE POV*

"I'm in love with you."

"What?" I asked shocked. But I wasn't disappointed. If anything I was extremely happy, and it made me realize, that I'm in love with him too.

"I'm in love with you Grace, and I never stopped."

"Hayes," I smiled. "I'm in love with you too." I whispered and his smile grew.

"Grace, these past few days with you have made me happier than ever. All of my relationships over the past three years haven't felt right. And now I know why. It's because they weren't you."

"I feel the exact same way." I told him. We stood up and hugged. "I miss being in your arms." I said into his shirt.

"Why because you're cold?" he laughed.

"That, and I missed your hugs." once we pulled apart, he took my hand in his and we walked back to the house. The walk back, we just talked about our favorite memories of each other. It feels good to finally admit that I love him. And I never stopped either.

"Hey guys. Where did you go?" Jillian asked as we got back. Her, Cameron, Nash, Carly, and Sammy were still on the deck, but my parents were inside watching a movie.

"We just went down the beach." I explained. Cameron and Nash raised an eyebrow at our intertwined fingers and then smirked at each other.

"I'm going inside." I told them.

*HAYES POV*

"I'm going inside." Grace said. She let go of my hand and offered me my sweatshirt back.

"Keep it." I said to her.

"Are you sure?" She asked and I nodded. I want to remember this day and I want her to too. So, she can keep the sweatshirt she was wearing.

She went inside the house and I sat down with everyone.

"So why did you really go walking?" Cameron asked.

"No reason." I said trying to hold back my smile.

"Come on we know something happened." Carly butted in. I sighed and began explaining.

"I, told her I'm, in love with her." I said sinking back into my chair. Everyone smiled at me and I smiled too.

"Awww!" Sammy, Jillian, and Carly cooed.

"You're in love with her?" Nash asked while smiling.

"Yeah." I nodded. "I can't get her off my mind. I'm crazy about her. Her smile, her laugh, her personality.... everything." I trailed off.

"Awwww!!!" they say again.

"Did she say it back?!" Jillian asked really interested.

"Yeah." I said and that caused me to smile wider.

"This is so cute." Sammy squealed.

"Did you kiss her?" Carly smirked.

"I'm leaving." I said getting out of my chair, avoiding that question.

"He did!!" Jillian said excitedly.

"Shut up." I said as I closed the door and felt my cheeks heat up. I walked past her parents to go upstairs.

"Hey Hayes why are you so happy?" Her mom asked. I guess I never stopped smiling.

"What? Oh, nothing." I said as I ran up the stairs.

"He's lying." I heard Grace's dad say.

"I'll ask Grace what happened later." her mom replied. Oh well, they'll find out eventually. Her parents and I have that kind of relationship. Even though I haven't seen them in 4 years, we still act like I'm their own child.
