Just like Before

Chapter 27

Thursday night, 11:32 pm. After the game.

Sammy, Joseph and I shoved our way through the people and made it to a clear spot. Laney and Sammy's roommate left at half time because football isn't their thing, but Sammy Joseph and I stayed so we could see Hayes. We would end up waiting for quite a while in the car, but we were waiting in a less crowded spot outside right now since we have so much time to kill.

"Are you excited?" Sammy asked me as we stood against a wall.

"I'm about to burst." I softly laughed as I tried not to shiver so much. It's the beginning of March, so it's pretty cold out. I looked around as the space started to clear out. After almost 30 minutes, where were were standing was almost completely empty, besides the workers and the man directing traffic. "Do you want to go wait in the car now?" I turned to Sammy and Joseph who nodded eagerly. We all locked arms and quickly made it over to our car. It was about 12:15 am, so Hayes would be available soon. He had told me yesterday that at 1am he would be able to come and see us somewhere. He had to be with his team and then go shower, but we all agreed to meet somewhere on campus. (Virginia Tech)

Almost an hour later, I got s text from Hayes.

hey! I'm ready when y'all are. I'll come find you if you drive to the parking lot of my dorm

okay we'll be there soon

"Hayes said go to his dorm." I told Joseph who was driving. He nodded and started driving. I looked out the window the whole time thinking about seeing him. It's been almost eight weeks, and after tonight I'll only have three and a half weeks. It's not that long, I can do it! I'll just focus on my school work and it will fly by.

I saw Hayes walk out of his dorm building and I immediately got out of the car as fast as possible. Before I shut the door I heard Sammy yell "If you don't get back here in two minutes we're leaving!"

As Hayes saw me running towards him he started running also. Once we met, we
hugged and he lifted me off the ground. After a few seconds I was set down, and he pulled away to look at me.

"You're finally here." he whispered and I nodded. "I can't be-"

"Hayes just kiss me!" I cut him off and he slammed his lips on mine. I ran my hands through his hair and his hands fell to my waist.

"I missed you, so, much." Hayes said in between kisses.

"I missed you too." I said breathlessly as we pulled away from each other. I broke out into a huge smile and he grabbed man hand in his. Once we got to the car, Hayes was greeted by Sammy and Joseph.

"Where should we go guys?" I asked.

"There's a diner that's open all hours like five minutes from here if you're hungry." Hayes suggested.

"I bet you are, so let's go there." I answered and everyone agreed. The short ride there consisted of us asking Hayes about Tech and talking about the game, and then we arrived at the diner.
