Just like Before

Chapter 8

*GRACE POV*

I'm really excited for my date with Hayes. Or maybe it's not a date... whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it.

I went to the closet in my room and picked out a sundress. It was a pale pink with spaghetti straps. I also did light makeup and straightened my hair. I put on a necklace and also some wedges, along with my favorite perfume.

After getting dressed, I grabbed my cross body bag and headed downstairs where Hayes was waiting for me. He looked nice. He was wearing a plaid button up shirt and pants.

"You look great Grace." he smiled at me.

"Thanks, you too." I thanked him as he kissed my cheek.

"Ready to go?"

I nodded and he led me outside to the car. He opened my door for me and I couldn't help but smile and blush.

"So where exactly are we going?" I asked curiously.

"It's a surprise." he answered as he started up the car. I playfully rolled my eyes and turned on the radio. He smacked my hand away.

"What the hell was that?" I laughed.

"I wanna talk." he answered.

"We can talk with the radio on."

"Just leave it off." he laughed.

"Okay Mr. Sassy." I mumbled.

"Hayes this place looks expensive." I said cautiously.

"Don't worry I got it." he sweetly smiled. I nodded and we walked into the fancy restaurant. It was decorated with lights and flowers at each table. I didn't know how he could afford it, and I couldn't help but feel bad.

A waitress led us to a table by a window and we sat down.

"This place is amazing." I said as I looked around in awe.

"I'm glad you like it."

"Okay this is the best pasta I have ever tasted." I said with a mouth full.

"I know, this place had good food." Hayes smiled.

"Have you been here before?"

"Nope, Nash told me about it and he suggested I bring you here." he answered.

"Why such a fancy place?"

"Because I needed a nice place to do this..." he trailed off.

"Do what?" I asked confused. He looks down, then back up at me and stared into my eyes.

"Grace, I love you. We have been through a lot and now that we've found each other again, would you be my girlfriend?" He sweetly asked.

"Hayes, of course." I beamed. His smile broke out and we were just sitting there looking at each other. "For a second there I thought you were gonna propose." I laughed slightly. A small laugh fell from his mouth too.

"Nope, I'm not proposing.... yet." he smirked. I know it sounds a little cheesy but I got major butterflies... just the thought of him proposing made me smile like an idiot. No, I don't know for sure that Hayes is the one, but I'm pretty sure that no one will ever make me as happy as he does.

"So is that why you planned this whole night out? To ask me out?" I asked after a few minutes of silence.

"Yeah." he nodded, while his face was tinted a dark pink.

"Hayes, this is so sweet. But quite frankly I would've been perfectly fine if you asked me out when we were in pajamas on an old couch watching reruns of Disney shows. Not spending your money on me."

"I just wanted to make this special. And don't worry about the money okay?" He assured me. I nodded and he pecked my lips across the table. He almost spilled his glass of water and I couldn't help but laugh.

Later that night when we got back to the house, I was bombarded with questions from Sammy, Jillian, and Carly about the date.

*HAYES POV*

"How'd you do it bro?" Nash asked me as I walked inside. Grace was talking to the girls upstairs.

"I just asked her." I shrugged.

"Oh come on. Knowing you, you made this speech about how much you love her, and memories, then asked her." Cameron stated. I rolled my eyes, but all three of us knew that he was completely right.

"You guys are a nice couple." Nash said. I tried not to smile, but I walked up the stairs smiling like an idiot.

I saw Grace walking out of Jillian's room and I grabbed her wrist.

I spun her around and pushed her against the wall.

"Hayes you scared me." she chuckled.

"I know." I smirked. There was only about an inch between our faces, so I closed it by pressing my lips against hers.

Her arms came up and wrapped around my neck, while my hands traveled down and rested on her hips.

She pushed herself off the wall and we walked into her room, never breaking the kiss. I kicked the door closed with my foot and then locked it. She jumped so her legs we wrapped around me. She parted her lips so I slid my tongue in.

I pushed her down on the bed and I was on top of her.

*GRACE POV*

Hayes was now on top of me and I tugged at his hair encouraging him on. He tugged at the end of my dress. We pulled apart for a quick second so I could pull it off and he pulled off his shirt.

He started leaving kisses down my neck. Thank god he locked the door.

A few minutes later, he unclipped my bra and he was only in his boxers.

"Shit." He muttered as I flipped us over so I was on top. I straddles him and we continued making out.

Needless to say, we had a great night.
