As things go back to normal at home, the guys resume their usual schedules, meaning, they're booked and busy. That also means that I hardly get to see them and by the time they're done for the day, they barely have enough energy to eat, let alone go out on dates. However, they do their best to let me know they're thinking of me, plus I get to see them during short breaks since I'm a regular visitor at the company building. They still don't like the idea of leaving me alone too often and I won't fight them. If it were me in their shoes, I'd imagine I'd be just as cautious. Besides, it's not the worst place to be.
The Big Hit building is pretty much its own little city. There are several cafes and restaurants, as well as spectacular indoor gardens for working, enjoying break times, or meditating. There are even designated areas for pets. Since the guys are constantly filming or recording, they have many studios—some for filming, some for recording, and some for dancing. And of course, spaces for hair, makeup, and wardrobe.
Today I'm hanging out with Mimi while the boys are with their wardrobe stylists. I almost insisted I be there, but then there's no way I could explain wanting to be present while they were half-naked. However, that doesn't help the irrational jealousy currently twisting in my gut. Their wardrobe stylists have probably seen them nude a million times. It's part of their job. They've measured them, helped them in and out of clothing, even sewn garments while they were still wearing them. Yet I can't help this insane need to barge in, stomp my feet and claim them as mine. But of course, that's totally out of the question.
"Oooh, Taehyungie would love this," Mimi remarks, holding up a bright cherry hair dye swatch.
I nod but inwardly make a face. I love the color, and it'd look especially good on him. But he just went from teal to royal blue. The color is almost faded but wouldn't going so drastic damage it even more? I've been massaging deep conditioner into his scalp and hair almost every other night. But of course, I can't tell her that.
"Oh! Check out this style I'm thinking about for Jungkookie." She pulls up a picture from her phone. I only have to glance at it for half a second before I shake my head.
"No."
"No?" She looks stunned.
"He doesn't want to cut it."
Mimi's eyes grow wider. "Well, maybe he doesn't think he doesn't..."
"He doesn't. He wants to grow it out."
As inappropriate as I know my sudden candor is, I can't help how protective I feel of them. There are seven of them and it's only been a month or so, but I feel like each one of them is mine. Still, I can't let my feelings cause any more undue rumors when the company has just managed to get the hospital fiasco under control.
Surprisingly, they went with the truth: a Big Hit employee had fallen seriously ill and the guys wanted to come back to Korea to support them. The company was like a family, after all, so no one questioned their motives, especially after they started flooding social media with selcas and short video clips, proving they were all happy and healthy. Little did the public know, I was often just a foot away when those pictures were taken or even holding the camera.
I glance up at Mimi with apologetic eyes, realizing that she's just doing her job. I can't make that harder for her, especially when she's my only friend here.
"It's really cute though. Do you think Yoongi or even Hobi would like it?"
She looks at the pic and then nods. "It'd be different for them but different is just what they need for K-Fest. Have you seen the lineup yet?"
I nod. I knew they were headlining. I just didn't realize that an entire night was designated just for them. Meaning, they'd be performing most of their tour setlist plus some new songs. They would be to K-Fest what Beyonce is to Beychella. Fans have even been trending #BTSFest.
