We make a pit stop for food, and with Jigaemae's help, I'm able to order something delicious that I hope Yoongi will appreciate. He knows the boys well and I trust his judgment. I'm very fortunate to have his help. When we pull up to the Big Hit main building, he hands me a small box before I'm able to open the car door.
"What's this?" I inquire before inspecting its contents.
I open it up and realize it's a cell phone. Just as he said, he took care of it. I know it may just be a part of his job but I'm touched.
"Thank you," I say with a soft smile. "Really. Thank you."
He nods, and I swear, he's trying not to grin. Then he shows me how to power it on, set the preferred language, and where to find my phone number.
Jigaemae is kind enough to escort me to Yoongi's studio after getting me through the company's security. However, once we're just a few yards away from the doors, I let him know I can take it from there and that I will call if I need a ride. Hopefully, Yoongi won't slam the door in my face. Damn. Maybe I should have asked Jigaemae to stick around for a bit.
I suck in a lungful of air before pressing my finger to the doorbell. Good thing, because it seems I forget to breathe as I wait for Yoongi to answer.
One door opens.
Then another.
Then Yoongi is looking at me, obviously caught off guard. I'm not sure if he's annoyed I've just intruded on his personal time; I don't know him well enough to call it. But he's definitely surprised.
"I thought you could use a meal. And maybe a break?" I hold up the takeout bag of food.
He takes a moment to look at me...really look at me. And then he nods, stepping aside.
I slide off my shoes and enter his creative space, making sure not to seem too eager. His studio is very much what I envisioned. There are several monitors on an ergonomic desk, along with mixing equipment I couldn't even begin to describe and a huge keyboard. There's a black leather couch, shelves, a mini fridge, and a coffee table. Simple, neat, and efficient to help him create. He doesn't come across as pretentious, even in his expensive yet somewhat plain ripped jeans, oversized FG tee shirt, and silver hoop earrings. A black mask cradles his chin. However, even without the flair of accessories and cosmetics, he's still extremely intimidating.
Yoongi relieves me of the bag of food without a word and sets it on the table. Then he waves a hand towards the couch, offering me a seat. I guess we'll be playing charades today.
"Hoseok said you've been working on your mixtape," I begin, trying to break the awkward silence. "I hope I'm not interrupting you."
He shakes his head. "You're not."
"Oh...good."
Another stretch of quiet.
"How's it coming along?"
He nods, drumming his fingers on his knee. "Good."
This was a mistake. Obviously, he's uncomfortable with me being here. I should have called and gotten permission first. I knew showing up unannounced was a huge risk but my soft heart got the best of me. Just the thought of him slaving away in here all day made me sad, especially when the other guys were enjoying their time off. Plus, if I'm being honest, I wanted to see him. I know I have no right to feel that way, but I can't help it.
"Well, um... you should eat," I say, trying to plaster on a confident smile. I open the bag and begin to set out containers. Surprisingly, Yoongi helps.
