1 girl.
And the 7 men who own her heart.
When she applied for the job, she thought she'd just be teaching in South Korea and getting a fresh start. Little did she know, she'd be signing up to shred her soul into seven little pieces.

"What is this place?" Jimin asks as he peers through the large window that takes up the upper half of the wall. While the insides of the other classrooms are only visible through a glass cutout on the door, this room is purposely structured in a way that encourages people to observe.
"A daycare center," I answer. "It's available for all the staff here at The Purple House. Plus some of our students came to us because they are young parents and traditional schooling wasn't flexible enough. Here, they can get an education, explore their passions and grow into great moms and dads. Parenthood shouldn't mean you have to give up on your dreams. It just means your dreams are a bit bigger. They're even sweeter and more meaningful."
The guys nod thoughtfully as they peer in at the crawling infants and toddlers playing with blocks and foam puzzle pieces. I study each member through a beat of silence, waiting for one of them to recoil or grow disinterested or even make a snide remark. But they don't. They just gaze through the glass with soft smiles on their faces, murmuring gwiyeowo every few seconds as they wave at the little ones.
"Do you want to go in and meet them?" I ask with my heart in my throat.
Taehyung, who's standing the closest to me, turns to me with big, excited eyes and my favorite boxy smile. "Can we?"
"Of course. They love visitors," I reply with a grin.
Then, with an optimistic heart, I twist the handle of the door. The guys follow close behind me as I lead them to a sink so we can wash our hands. At first, the children squeal and cheer with joy, calling out "Ms. Vi! Ms. Vi!" as they waddle towards us on short, chubby legs. However, once they take in the seven, sharply dressed strangers flanking me, they stop short and look up curiously. Even the two daycare workers come over holding the tinier babies.

"Who them, Ms. Vi?" an adorable, three-year-old tot asks as he points a stubby finger towards the guys.
"Who are they?" I gently correct him. "These are my friends, BTS. Can you say hi to them?"
The little ones that can talk all scream out, "Hi, BTS!" while bouncing up and down on excited feet. Then they waste no time getting a closer look and telling them their names. The guys crouch down and easily make friends, evoking quite a few peals of innocent laughter. There aren't many kids here—only about five or six kids in total on a regular basis. But one little girl in particular shuffles over to where I stand and smiles up at me, her entire cherub face alight with joy.
"Oh, cute," Jungkook comments beside me. He holds out his hand to the little girl and she happily gives him a high-five.
"Ok, kids, time to go outside!" one of the daycare teachers announces, causing the kids to cheer with glee. Then they all wave goodbye to us before lining up to leave. All of them except one child.
The chubby-cheeked little girl.
I shoot a glance at one of the teachers before they head out. "She can stay with me," I simply say, earning me a nod in response. Then the childcare providers usher the energetic children out of the classroom.
