I gaze out the window, watching as the early morning sun beams bright with our arrival. Or is it the afternoon sun? I can't be sure. We've been on this plane for nearly eleven hours, and I can't even be sure of my own name at this point. I just know that we'll be landing soon and I have never been so nervous to be back in the state where I was birthed.
"Tae?" I whisper, stroking his hair and kissing his sleeping face. "Time to wake up."
The flight from Seoul to Los Angeles is insanely long so the company chartered a jet that housed seats that converted to beds. This also cut down on space for other staff members, including a camera crew. So lucky for us, I got to sit with the guys and only two managers flew with us: Sejin and Jigaemae. The rest of the staff and security will meet us on the ground. And since both managers are well aware of the nature of our relationship, the guys weren't shy about being affectionate with me once we boarded, despite the curious airline crew. I, on the other hand, was a bit worried although the guys assured me that flying private guaranteed a level of discretion.
I give Taehyung a little shake, prompting him to only cuddle up closer and wrap an arm around me. I smile and enjoy the feel of his warm body, finding it impossible to stop stroking his beautiful face. He looks so precious and angelic in slumber, which is completely ironic considering how incredibly fierce and unrelenting he could be during other bedroom activities. I squeeze my thighs together and bite back a gasp. I could still feel him inside me and while the soreness is a little uncomfortable, I relish the reminder.
I manage to turn onto my other side and peek across the aisle to find a stirring Park Jimin. Separated by the adjustable armrest is Hoseok who is still sleeping soundly. Across from them is Jungkook and Yoongi, and across from Tae and I are Namjoon and Jin.
"Hey, baby boy," I whisper.
Jimin gives me a sleepy smile. "Are we almost there?"
"Almost," I nod. "You guys should start getting up."
Jimin yawns then turns to give Hobi a little shake. Soon, one by one, all the guys start to stir awake with the knowledge that we'll be landing soon. I know they've got to be ready to be on solid ground. I know I am. I honestly don't know how they withstand spending so much time on airplanes during their tours.
We arrive at LAX and, as expected, the staff is already waiting to usher them through customs and out of the airport. There's a good bit of security from what I can see, most of them hired specifically for their stay here, plus the other two managers.
"How many people could be out there waiting?" I wonder out loud, not really asking anyone.
"Hundreds, maybe," Jin shrugs.
"Hundreds? You're just walking through the airport. And there are so many people...what if someone is crazy enough to try to touch you? Or hurt you?"
Jin gazes down at me, a soft smile on his plump lips. "Are you worried about us?"
"Of course, I'm worried about you. I'm always worried."
"Don't worry, Violet. We will be safe. Nothing bad will happen."
I know it's just my paranoia. As excited as I am about their promotions in the US and having a sense of familiarity, being back in the states makes me nervous. I can't explain it. I'd only been in Seoul for a matter of months and it had already begun to feel like home. Or maybe it was because the guys felt like my home.
Manager Sejin explains the process for exiting the airplane, going over the details with us to ensure everyone's safety, including mine. This time around, I would be leaving first, accompanied by a security guard. He would lead me to one of the vehicles waiting for us and I would stay put and out of sight as I wait for the guys. Jigaemae seems a little disappointed that he won't be able to stay by my side through the airport but he's too recognizable. If I'm walking with a stranger, no one will even notice me, as they'll be too focused on catching a glimpse of the group.
