she looked like she was about to jump into an erupting volcano,
but it wasn't out of fear.
it was out of determination.
the look on her face said it all.
being brave:
'to do something even if you're scared to do it'.
it didn't mean you did something courageous
without being scared.
people need to be scared.
it's part of human nature.
you just need to hide it well enough
to survive this damn world.
there was a list of things she needed to do:
to breathe
to win
to survive
to be brave
she almost felt like giving up.
but she knew she couldn't.
for her boyfriend.
for her sister.
for her mom,
for her dad,
for the new people she met
that she wanted to get to know.
