she counted to ten.
her sister had taught her that.
"whenever you're scared or nervous or upset
count to ten.
I know for me that helps.
it might help you too."
there could be a weapon.
the woman gave it away.
there were many possibilities.
maybe she had to face an inland taipan
(one of the deadliest snakes there is).
maybe just hundreds of snakes.
real or fake.
she knew how.
knew how she would survive.
