she saved me from drowning
she must really care
she wanted to tell me something before that
I think I knew what it was
afterward I wanted to tell her my feelings
in case I didn't make it out of this alive
we were sitting in the hallway
she was helping me with math
(you know how writers are,
we can't do math for shit)
I decided to tell her
but before I could
she told me her feelings first
and I was right!
she loved me!
it was one of the greatest things I've ever been told
she told me I didn't have to love her back
that we didn't have to be together
but before she could finish her sentence
I kissed her
I couldn't help myself
I just kissed her
she tasted like peppermint
it's now one of my favorite flavors
she saved me from losing my breath
meanwhile I took her breath away
but that's okay
because it wasn't in the same way
but she makes me breathless
in the good way
