not dying is my goal
my mother would be pleased
not dying was their goal too
and look where that got them
I am not the first
but I hope to be the last
children shouldn't be scared for their lives
parents shouldn't have to worry that they're never coming home
I shouldn't be underneath my covers
paralyzed with fear
hoping that I'm not gonna die the next day
no one should have to go through that
especially not children
