The moon smiles down at me.
I look up and smile back. She's always had a thing for me
That beautiful moon in the sky.
She's like a watcher, a protector.
She guides me so dear.
She makes me grin from ear to ear.The moon smiles down at me.
I look up and smile back. She's always so kind to me.
She knows my secrets and she doesn't tell 'em.
She doesn't judge me, or my mom, or anyone I know.
These times are rough, she tells me, but
I'm tough enough to get through them. The moon smiles down at me.
I look up and smile back.Being a teenager is hard.
Being a girl is hard.
Being bisexual is hard.
Being black is hard.
Being mixed is hard.
She makes me feel like things
Are a million times easier. The moon smiles down at me.
I look up and smile back. She glows her white light onto me.
She does it so gently.
She caresses my face wherever I go.
She helps guide me through the night.
She shows me her children, the stars.
And she even shows me her lover, the sun.The moon smiles down at me.
I look up and smile back.I love her right back.
I care about her too.
She's so beautiful and so, so kind.
I wish I could go to her.
I wish I could see her
So that way she is never alone.
