Here he was, the tall Canadian was standing in the living room, a glass of whiskey in his hand as he watched people come in and out. His stare derived to his best friend, who was Poppy, she was laughing at something he said, it probably sucked but she was in love.

His hazel eyes focused on a tiny girl, wearing a blue dress who embraced her curves perfectly. Weirdly, she looked familiar to him; he knew her; he experienced something every time he would watch her. Then, it hit him... She was here, right in front of him.

Shawn hurried to Brian, taping his shoulder impatiently. "What man?"

"You never told me!" He replied. "She is here, Bri!"

Brian stayed silent, watching her as she walked towards them. "Brian!" She squealed

She ran in his arms, her giggles echoed through his head, her sweet scent hit his nose as he prepared himself to break down at any minutes. She pulled away, looking at Shawn for a second then concentrated on Poppy.

"Hey, you must be Poppy!" She told him excitedly. Still friendly.

Brian's girlfriend laughed and hummed. "Good call! You must be the famous Phoebe." She talked. "The boys talk about you a lot."

Phoebe frowned. "The boys?"

She nodded with a sly smile. "Yeah, Brian and Sh-" Brian's hand came on her mouth as he laughed and walked away leaving them alone.

"I should probably go..." She whispered.

Shawn cursed under his breath and walked after her, his hand gripped her wrist bringing her closer. "Please, don't walk away again." He begged. "I just saw you again..."

"But it's wrong." She replied. "Shawn, please?"

He shook his head. "I know you have a boyfriend but I want to catch up." He told her leading her into his room. "Just the two of us." He added.

Shawn closed the door behind him as he watched her walking around. Fingers touched every item in the room, frames, instruments, books, movies. A soft giggle escaped her lips as she grabbed the frame on his nightstand, it was them.

"We look damn good" Said Shawn, making her laugh.

Both of them were only wearing underwear and posing in front of the mirror. Shawn's arms locked around her waist as he leaned down pressing multiple kisses on her shoulders. Phoebe tilted her head o the side, giving him more access.

"We should take a photo." He whispered. "I want to remember this moment. Just us being all lovely."

She was now sitting on the bed, he slowly came next to her and sat. She let her head fall on his shoulder, feeling finally at home. Shawn relaxed letting her do, she was finally there, and he would not let her go that easily.

Shawn laughed sadly. "You know, I'm waiting for this moment for so long and now, that you're finally here...I just want to stay here in silent and enjoy your presence cause I know it won't last."

She hummed. "Brian said nothing about you this past three years. How have you been?"

"Honestly? Miserable." He answered. "What about you?"

"Great, even been good. I got a promotion at work!" She exclaimed, making Shawn's heart flutter. "And I got a new place, it's so big!" She added and kept ranting on her new life as I sat there, listening to her.

"I'm happy for you." He gave her a warm smile. "I am."

She thanked him and stared at the ceiling. "Can I use your bathroom?" She queried.

"Mi casa es tu casa." He spoke out loud as Phoebe let out a chuckle.

He watched her go away as he breathed out still, a little shaken to see her sitting on his bed. He couldn't help but be scared, what if it was a dream and she was not here? Shawn opened his eyes and pinched himself, just to be sure it was not a dream.

His lips curved into a wide smile as he replayed the moment he saw, a blue dress, his favorite color. Did she do it on purpose or did she not and didn't remember what his favorite color was. He stared at her, waking to him as a mark caught his eyes.

He sat up and grabbed her hand. "What are you doing?" She asked, giving him a confused look.

"Who did you do that?" His finger caressed the purple spot, making her wince. "Phoebs?"

"No one." She whispered, voice cracking a little. "I burnt myself with the hair straightener." She added.

Shawn cupped her face and eyed her. "You can tell me everything, Phoebe. You know that." He rubbed her cheek with the pad of her thumb. "I want you to be safe and happy even if it's not with me. Are you happy?"

She took a moment but nodded. "Are you happy?" She returned him the question.

Shawn looked down still holding her face. "Am not...But you are and it's all that matters." He uttered. "I love you. I never stopped."

She shut her eyes. "Don't..." She warned him. "You have no right to say it. Not after three years."

"You're right but I will tell you until you understand that we are meant to be, Phoebs." He stated. "I won't force you to do anything but whenever you ready, I'll be here."

"Please, Shawn." She cried softly. "I have to go."

Shawn sighed. "Stay a little longer?"

She pulled away. "No." And with that, she left.

And for the second time in her life, she told him 'no' while all she wanted to do was hug him and kiss him. She wanted him to hold her but she couldn't let it happen, people would end up hurt.

And for the second time, Shawn observed her walking away as he felt weak, he couldn't do anything but let her go away. He would wait for her, forever if he had to.

*sigh* I just want them together 🥺😔
