Beyoncé's POV

It's a Saturday morning and Shawn is away for the weekend in LA for some business meetings, so I'm hoping to get an hour to myself before Marisa and Malcolm wake up and demand all of my attention.

I walked down to the kitchen to pour a cup of coffee and jumped when I saw Skai sitting on my couch watching TV.

"Oh my goodness I didn't know you were gonna be here, you scared me!" I said with my hand over my chest.

"Sorry,  I came over last night after y'all were sleep," she said. When I looked closer I could tell that she'd been crying.

"What's wrong, baby?" I asked, sitting down next to her.

She sighed and wiped a tear from her eyes then told me everything that happened between her and Jayson since his mom died, up until last night. I held her in my arms as she cried and cried.

"Why didn't you tell me what was going on?" I asked, concerned.

"I just...I don't know, I didn't want you to be disappointed in me," she said, and my heart broke.

"Baby, why would I be disappointed in you?"

She shrugged, "I gave him so many chances, I was so weak."

I looked at her, "Look, when your dad messed up one time I cut him off for sixteen years, and that was probably a little too extreme, so maybe you did the right thing being a little more forgiving."

"Maybe...I just felt like I couldn't walk away without knowing that he reallllly wasn't gonna change."

I nodded, "And that's totally valid. You guys were together a long time, it's not easy to walk away. But I'm proud of you for standing up for yourself."

She gave me a weak smile, "Thanks, mom."

"Wanna do something fun today? Wanna go shopping?"

She smiled, "I mean....if you really think that designer shoes and handbags is gonna make me feel better then I guess I'll give it a try."

I laughed, "At least you still got your sense of humor...ok when the babies wake up we'll get ready to go."

It's been a month now since Jayson and I have broken up and honestly, I've been living my best life.

I've been doing really well in school this semester and I've enjoyed just spending time having fun with my friends and not constantly being tied down to my phone wondering if/when Jayson was gonna text me back.

A couple days ago, that guy Brandon texted me and we decided to meet up for coffee today.
