"I ain't seen you in a week and all you gon do is sit there smilin' on your phone? Who you textin'?" Madison hovered over me, trying to get a look at my phone.
"My girlfriend."
"Your...bitch what? When did that happen and why am I just findin' out??" Madison snatched my phone. "Awwww, you miss her! Is it shorty from the club? The stripper??"
"She doesn't dance anymore but yes, it's Sasha. She asked me a week ago." I grabbed my phone and sat on the couch with a smile on my face. Just thinking about Sasha gave me butterflies.
"Invite her over. Tonight. I'll cook." Madison had the look in her eye that told me she wasn't going to take no for an answer. So I didn't even try to get out of it. Plus I wanted to see Sasha just as bad.
I double texted her with an invite to dinner.
"She said she'll be over in an hour."

In the hour I waited for Sasha to come over, I took a shower and washed my hair while Madison cooked stir fry without any meat because I wanted her to think about Sasha being a vegetarian. Madison cooked our chicken on the side because she "ain't eatin' no food without some meat in it".
By the time I got out the shower, it smelled so good in the place my stomach growled instantly.
Butterflies rested in my stomach and skyrocketed up my throat when I heard the doorbell ring. She was really here. My heart started beating so fast and then I got a little nervous.
I slid into black yoga pants and a pink spaghetti strapped tank top. When I was halfway into the living room, goosebumps traveled up my arms. I could feel her presence before I heard Sasha's chuckle hanging in the air.
"Yeah we been friends for a long ass time now." Madison closed her mouth the second she saw me coming near them two.
Sasha had her hair straightened and it was well past her shoulders. My mouth dropped looking at her. She had on a light blue pair of Victoria Secret sweats and the matching hoody. My favorite color to see her in was blue because it made her eyes that much prettier and she knew I liked it.
"I'm mad you ain't bring her around til now. She's coo as fuck." Madison gushed over Sasha the way I was doing mentally just staring at her. I wrapped my arms around her body and inhaled her sweet scent.
"Thank you," Sasha said shyly. She welcomed my embrace.
"Maddie cooked, are you hungry?" I asked as I let her body go. Her body heat kept me near her though. She nodded her head and sat at the kitchen table as Madison prepared our plates.
During dinner, I couldn't stop stealing glances at Sasha. I couldn't believe she was my girlfriend just like Madison couldn't either. Everything about her was perfect to me. Since quitting her job at the strip club, she smiled more. She was still shy, which I didn't understand but I liked it.
Madison liked her almost as much as I did. They got along and made each other laugh the entire time we ate.
"I think this is the first time I've had stir fry like this. It's good." Sasha pushed her empty plate in front of her before reaching for her glass of wine. My second glass was already about empty.
"Girl I know," Madison checked her phone and then looked up. "I got a dick appointment in an hour."
"Okay, Maddie. Thanks for dinner," I laughed and rolled my eyes. That was always her excuse to leave.
Sasha helped me load up the dishes in the dishwasher while Madison gathered her things from the living room. Every time Sasha handed me a plate, our fingers touched and made my stomach flutter. As Madison headed out the front door, she made sure to embarrass me.
"Make sure I'm not the only one gettin' laid tonight!!"
"Wow, she's funny." Sasha chuckled, her cheeks turned bright red and so did mine. When we were done in the kitchen, she followed me to the couch and sat extremely close to me. It made me smile when I felt her fingers interlock with mine.
"I'm glad you wanted me to come over." She paused. "I wanted to ask you this in person."
"What is it?" I sounded uneasy and a bit nervous but the relaxed look on her face told me to calm down. She rubbed my knuckles soothingly.
"There's a carnival...fair...whatever it's called...umm." Sasha was a mumbling nervous wreck. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. She rubbed the back of her neck and sighed.
"There's this carnival and I wanted to take you on a date...there. If you want but..."
"Aww, of course I'll go on a date with you love." I smiled as her nerves quickly disappeared. Her shoulders relaxed.
"Really? Okay good."
"Babe I'm your girlfriend. You don't have to be nervous to ask me on a date." I kissed her lips and pulled the small fuzzy pink blanket over our bodies. She grinned and sat her head on my shoulder.
Being around her made me feel like I was in love for the first time. It wasn't possible to think about anything other than the woman sitting next to me. We didn't need to talk or even watch TV, her company was enough for me.
The rest of the night was as perfect as Sasha was. We watched a movie and sipped on more wine until my body buzzed all over. I didn't want to have sex though. I wanted to be held and that's exactly what Sasha did. We laid in each other's arms and whispered secrets until we couldn't fight our sleep any longer.
The last time we had sex, I let my emotions take over and I told Sasha that I loved her. I wanted to keep that to myself but the way she made me feel, I couldn't.
I was half asleep and I thought she was sleeping too but when she wrapped her arms around me and pulled me closer, I heard the words slip from her mouth.
"I love you, Aaliyah."
