Lila POV
"So, late night, eh?" Wyatt asked me, leaning against the kitchen counter with a huge grin.
"Yup. So much homework, you know? Didn't want to waste away my weekend doing it," I shot back, rolling my eyes as I put toast in the toaster and prepared a cup of tea.
"So instead you waste it by sleeping it away?" he teased, "Good idea."
"I know. I'm so smart," I stuck my tongue out. "So you and Ivy were having a bonding moment?"
"How much did you hear?" he asked, eyes wide.
"Just the ending," I paused and looked at him suspiciously. "Why? What were you talking about?"
He relaxed slightly. "Nothing that you need to worry about."
"Okay..." I decided to drop it since it wasn't any of my business anyways and grabbed the toast that was finished. I buttered it and ate while I waited for the kettle to click off. "So did you bring some stuff?"
"Yup, I've got some markers, glue, scissors and papers and stuff. I got a little bit of info too, but since we never decided which side we were on I just got general info for both sides," he shrugged.
I finished off my toast, poured my tea and motioned upstairs. He went up first and I followed behind all the way to my room. I deposited my tea on the desk, and took the seat next to Wyatt. I had brought an extra chair up last night, before he came over and kept me up nearly all night.
I pushed some of the mountain of papers I had on my desk aside, seeing a familiar, plain calendar in their midst. I really need to throw it out. All those red X's felt like a stab through my heart. I pushed it to the far end and tossed more papers on top of it, determined to keep it out of sight even thought Wyatt had already seen it.
He wrapped his arm carefully around me, resting it on the back of my chair, against my shoulder blades while he rubbed my arm with his hand.
I sighed. "I know he's not coming back..." I said, before he could say anything.
"I know you do. But I also know you hate to be reminded of those times and you have every reason to not want to remember."
I shook my head, dispelling the gruesome thoughts. "Let's just leave Ca-" I sank my teeth into my lower lip for a second. "Him alone, and focus on this project."
"Whatever you say, partner. So..." he got a grin on his face, a very devilish, troublemaking one. He leaned in close, "Lila...do you think we should have sex now? Or should we wait?" he asked, being all overly seductive.
I was about to laugh and push him away when someone from the door snapped out an angry "Get the hell away from my daughter!"
I jumped in surprise and saw my dad in the doorway, looking downright murderous.
"Get out of my house right now!" he thundered, coming into my room. His eyes were bugging out of his head and his face was a bright, blotchy red.
"Whoa wait just a minute," I stood up, waving my hands to get his attention. "Dad would you just calm down?"
"Calm down? Calm down? This boy is overstepping his boundaries! How could you be okay with him asking you such a question? You're too young!" The vein in his forehead becoming prominent.
"Dad if you would just listen to me..." I sighed, reaching for the project outline the teacher had given us and held it up for his viewing. "Wyatt wasn't asking me when we were going to do it personally. He was asking about our project; should teens have sex or wait until their older? We have to pick the side we're on, and try to give reasons for our choice. He was just being goofy." I glared at him. "Now before you go throwing him out of the house, I hope you do recall that I have a boyfriend that I'm very happy with."
