Chapter nineteen - Healing

You walked out noticing how empty the halls were. You made your way back to the hospital wing grudgingly and you see two beds with curtains around them, you know who they were, Peter and Lupin. You walk into the second one closet to your bed and see a sleeping Peter. You hold his hand as he sleeps and sit beside him. You see him shutter and whimper, he must be having a nightmare. You look at him and know you shouldn't but you might have to...

"I'm so sorry this happens to you. Whatever happens I'm with ya buddy." You promise him.

You concentrate with the energy around you shifts again and you see peter stop squirming and a smile lays on his sleeping face.

"I'll stand by you through this. I promise." You told him holding his hand a bit tighter.

How could this have happened!? Damn that Greyback. You couldn't imagine what it felt like every month to turn into a monster that knows if he can't control himself, he could hurt his friends kill someone even. You didn't want to think about how that felt. He must feel so alone and out of control. Maybe that's why he works hard at school something to prove, or maybe something to focus on.

You though more and more about the millions of reasons why he tries so hard and why he is always so kind and giving, he must feel like a monster, being trapped in a body you hate, with something that you hate. You rubbed circles on the back of his hand and made the hope more powerful watching Peter laugh and mumble in his sleep.

"Sleep well." You said looking at him glad you bumped into him in the halls.

Madam Pomfrey opens the curtain and wordlessly tells you to get out you do and she starts scolding you.

"Whatever that thing you're doing is it's causing the mood of the entire area you're in to shift, as impressed as I am you should not be using magic and straining your body. I can only imagine you were sent here due to your injury's finally taking a toll on you." Madam Pomfrey stated.

"Uh... well as you can see, I'm all good, so-" Madam Pomfrey cut you off.

"All good? Your body is shaking your leg can barely hold you right now and your shoulder is still suffering from a werewolf attack!" She said somewhat quiet but still very harsh.

"I hate being cooped up all day it's annoying." You tell her. You mean, like it's always so constrictive you wanted to rip off the sling and go ride a broomstick over the castle.

"Give it twenty-four hours of rest and you'll be able to walk properly at least. Another week and you can have that sling off." Madam Pomfrey reassures you.

"Okay..."

After that you slept for the rest of the day. You had a nightmare about what you'd seen in Azkaban. You had to relive your greatest mistakes and worst memories. Many included you using the unforgivable curse, more so on your friends, but you also had to remember that Tom riddle was inside your head, he said he could only do that when the book was near and that means Lucius Malfoy brought the book to your house. Was that what your mom were talking about? Did she know Dad had a half brother? Does Dad know?

You couldn't help but think this and relive these memories in your sleep. You woke up in the middle of the night and felt thoughts and questions run through your head.

You always had a questions going through your head; Why was Sirius Black so good to you? He wasn't like you were when you were alone, he seemed calm and though he looked, rough and insane, he was kind, quiet and fairly nice to some degree. It makes no sense how he killed those muggles.

If you remembered this in the morning, you'd have to talk to someone about it, or maybe you'd have to confront your thoughts, maybe that dog you met, was Sirius Black. It seemed impossible but what if that dog you heard at Azkaban wasn't some hound chasing him down, but him escaping prison... Would Dementors really be looking for a dog? If that was true maybe Lupin would know, he said he knew Lily, maybe that means he knew Sirius. They were about the same age and Sirius was a student here after all.
