Y/n pov

It was Christmas eve and another full moon, you went out in the night and helped Peter out along with Lupin who was staying out because of all the children that had left most wandered halls he felt it was unsafe to be in his office. You shifted and you stayed stern the whole time. You kept a watchful eye on Peter whenever he attempted to go into the wrong sort of territory or scratch himself, you'd growl at him and keep him safe as normal. But he and Lupin seemed to notice how much more distant you seemed. You always used to lay with Peter and just look at the stars or at least sit with him, maybe shift back talk or take a break not to push yourself to hard. But you hadn't cared you were going to just do the job. You weren't in a fluffy mood.

You see two days prior you had received word your mother would be on a business trip and only your sister and Father could be here on Christmas. Unless anything came up. You wanted to say you didn't care but you did. And you did not feel like talking about it with anyone. Somethings you keep to yourself.

You made sure Peter was safe. He and Lupin both had brought robes and slid into them as the sun was rising a little bit loose but you didn't care. You then walked them to the front gates still not shifting back. You had a heavy heart and when you were a wolf no one could see your tears.

You walked them to the hospital wing knowing how tired and in pain they were you helped Peter up the stairs before leaving him on his own.

You trotted down to your empty room. No one in your house stayed over the break. You were on your own. You shifted back, tear stained face, tired eyes.

You changed into some comfortable clothes, breakfast would be starting soon, you were starving... but also so, so, very tired.

You decided you'd take a nap for a little while.

You woke up made sure your clothes and hair looked presentable, you made sure no one could tell you were crying and sauntered down to the great hall, t was around lunchtime and you were really starting to feel hungry.

You got down there and were surprised to see all tables pushed to the sides and one long table spanning in the middle of the hall, it was set for 12.
Professors McGonagall, Dumbledore, Snape, Sprout, Flitwick were there along with Filch, with two first years and the golden trio. You thought about turning around but you were too hungry.

You sat there with sunken face you were beside Snape and across from Dumbledore. You saw the headmaster's eyes glisten on you, you looked worn.

"Y/n are you okay? You look tired, were you able to sleep last night?" Hermione asks genuine concern lacing her voice. A voice inside your head reminded you not to be petty and not to give anything up about Peter and Lupin.

"Yes. I slept fine." You lied looking down not wanting to look at the trio.

Soon later professor Trelawney came in causing a nice commotion which you attempted to ignore.

"Let me draw you a chair." Dumbledore made a chair appear and sit in between Snape and McGonagall.

"I are not headmaster, if I join there'll be thirteen! Nothing could be any more unlucky! Never forget that when thirteen dine together, the first to rise will be the first to die." You rolled your eyes at her. Always with the death.

"We'll risk it Sybill." McGonagall said.

"But where is dear professor Lupin?" Trelawny asked as she sat down.

"Poor fellow is ill again." Dumbledore said making you look up carefully watching the Trelawny.

You took some food simple enough to eat. You had trouble ignoring Trelawny and McGonagall's banter until you heard Lupin be brought up and listened in.

"I have seen that poor professor Lupin will not be with us for very long. He seems aware his time is short." Trelawny spoke.
You dropped your fork quite loudly on your plate making her look at you intrigued, you glared because you didn't want to hear anything about Lupin that was bad.

"I doubt Lupin is in any imitate danger. Severus, you made him the potion again?" You saw Snape nod and you smiled at your headmaster and head of house. Soon after more side conversation you caught Harrys and Ron's glares. Harry suddenly made a guilty face but Ron kept eye contact strong.

Fawkes came in the hall to everyone's surprise. Your eyes followed him to Dumbledore. Dumbledore smiled at you.

"Y/n your gift has just arrived in my office." Dumbledore said with a wink. Nothing could explain how much joy you were feeling. You would get to see your father and sister! You stood up.

Professor Trelawny gasped.
"You! You were the first to stand!" she exclaims.

"So?" You ask dryly.

"The first of thirteen to rise shall be the first to die!" She repeats.

"Professor kindly I ask if you'd push your predictions on anyone else if I die walking out of this room than you can be happy you were correct." You said making even Snape have a closed mouth laugh at how you were so done. You walked all the way to the doors when her voice came again breaking the silence.

"Your aura is dangerous." You snapped. You were tired of hearing about you being dangerous.

"I'm not dangerous nor will I ever be!" You shout at her you quickly regain yourself feeling a gust of wind that blew out some candles you shake your head and leave with a slam of the doors. You weren't in the mood for her or anyone's crap. You were the only one who stayed behind your family was gone and they were finally here, no one is taking this from you. You declared in your head, feeling the same shrill feeling before you had burned the guard. You calmed down and took a deep breath.
