Chapter thirty nine - Full Moon Horrors

Y/n pov

You were walking down the stairs behind Sirius along with Hermione and as Lupin was dealing with Wormtail and Harry was helping Sirius carry Ron down.

"Sorry about the leg. I reckon that twinges a bit." Sirius said.

"A bit! A bit? You almost tore my leg off." You looked at Ron knowing he was exaggerating a slight bit.

"I was going for the rat. I normally have a very sweet disposition as a dog. In fact, more than once James suggest I make the change permanent. The tail I could live with but the fleas, they're murder." You could see Harrys smile and you couldn't help but share it.

Harry and Sirius went off looking at the castle. You knew Sirius was Harry's godfather and no doubt Sirius was telling him about this as Ron whined to Hermione about his leg as Draco did with Pansy.

You walked out and stood by the side of the whomping willow waiting for Wormtail to get thrown out, when he did, he was begging Ron you pulled Pettigrew by his shirt collar and lupin came out shortly after.

"You'll be on our side eventually you know." The rat told you.

"Never." You growled; you knuckles white from clenching your fists.

"One way or another, you'll see what you're doing is wrong and come to the wining side, our side." Pettigrew muttered.

"When all your kind, are dead or in prisoned I'll remember this conversation and wherever you lie on that spectrum I'll make sure you see you've lost... that is if you live that long." You told him with a light smile.

"He will return even if it's only to find you. His one true Heir, get rid of them and I can help you hide, I know his ways, I can protect you." Peter said attempting to get you to free him.

"I can protect myself." You say harshly moving quickly making Pettigrew tense up expecting you to hit him.

"You on the other hand will suffer for the rest of your miserable days." You said to him.

You back off him and turn to see Lupin sweating you look up shit you forgot.

"Harry!" Hermione calls making everyone look it's the full moon. You see Lupin's eyes pulse and him drop his wand.

"Peter!" You mutter fast thinking of what'll happen tonight, he's in danger out here.

Sirius ran towards him and kept trying to calm him down. You aimed at Pettigrew still not wanting him to run, Hermione pulled Ron to his feet and pulled you beside her.

Pettigrew picked up Lupins wand.

"Expelliarmus." Harry cast lightly, making Pettigrew look at the three as he shifts.

"Stupefy!" You cast hopping you had hit him.

"Petrificus Totalus!" You cast aiming at the clothes you see the rat from under it and you and Harry ran for it but Hermione pulls you both back, you see Lupin transforming in agony and you can hear Sirius screaming at you four to run. The wolf howls at throws Sirius a ways back off the side of the hill.

"Hermione, let's go, it's not safe." You mutter while Lupin is distracted.

"Wait." Hermione said stepping closer to Lupin.

"Lupin... Professor Lupin..." She asks as the werewolf whimpers.

"Awhhhoooo!" he howls making he jump back.

"There you are! Potter!" Snape hissed coming from the trunk of the tree. He quickly turns to meet our gaze and sees Lupin; he goes full protective mode and shields us. Lupin swing and Snape takes a step back to doge making us all fall to the ground you are about to be struck but Ron pulls you out of the way.

Lupin looks at harry but a huge black dog pounces on the wolf, Sirius black was fighting Remus.

It was a monstrous display, Sirius whimpered and kept getting back up, you attempted to run forward but kept being held back by Hermione. Sirius finally bite Remus's arm so Remus turns his attention to the dog. Black runs to lead the wolf away from you.

You shift and kick Hermione getting out of her grip and run after the two.

"Sirius." harry says running a little bit after you.

"Get back here the two of you!" Snape yells but you're too far gone.

You run and see Lupin lift up Sirius and throw him into a rock you howl and whimper making the wolf turn to you.

You pounce on him and growl, you bite and scratch just trying to find a way to knock him out or get him to stop. You see a weak black dog stumble watching you. You feel a sharp pain in your right side you howl in pain, Lupin had attacked you, leaving four bloodied gashes across your right side. You bit his arm seeing Harry had followed you didn't want him to get hurt but unlike Peter's attack this was major and you didn't know how much blood you had lost. Lupin threw you into a nearby rock making you whimper and lay down.

On the ground and watched the werewolf go towards Harry, your head askew and the faint taste of copper in your mouth.

"Awwwhooo!" The werewolf made a look to its left some other werewolf must've called you just prayed it wasn't Peter.

You look at the black dog and see as he shifts to a human and stumbles forward you jump to your paws and bite the cloth on his sleeve trying to stop him from tumbling backwards but you both ended up tumbling down the hill, you shifting back human in the process.

"Sirius!" You cough crawling to the man. He was laid beside the small pond. You were still bleeding but you knew you needed to get Sirius out of there.

"Sirius!" You said shaking him lightly. He opened his eyes and saw you.

"You need to get out of here, back to cover now." You said making him shake his head lightly, looking at your bleeding side.

"You're hurt... leave." He warned you.

"Not without you." You huffed, you ripped some cloth from his prison uniform and soaked it in the water before putting it over the wounds on his shoulder.

"Gah..." Sirius grunted you saw his eyes flicker in and out of consciousness.

"Sirius please stay awake, stay with me here." You begged as his eyes fell closed. You could feel his pulse, he was alive for now. You attempted to stand but collapsed. You saw Harry running to you, having just seen what happened.

"Y/n are you- is he?" Harry aske out of breath.

"I'm fine... he's alive, but we need to get him out of here." You grunted covering your side and keeping one hand on Sirius's shoulder making sure there was pressure on his wound.

"No." You shivered you looked up and saw about a hundred dementors circling you and you looked up a little further and saw about a hundred more split off, you were worried if Peter, Hermione, Lupin or Ron were in danger.

You saw Harry casting and joined in still having one hand on Sirius's wound.

"Expecto Patronum!" You cast only casting a few away before more came in it's place you had more attack you and you like Harry screamed out. You felt your vision going blurry. You kept casting.

"Expecto Patronum!" You cast at another one who had been attacking Sirius. You felt yourself being attacked again and another of after Sirius.

They all stopped for a moment you looked over at Sirius, you saw a blue light come from his lips and hover about a foot in front of him, you felt cold. You looked into the sky and in the distance saw a blue bird? You looked over past the oncoming dementors and from across the lake there was a huge blinding light before you passed out holding onto Sirius.

(What do you think that bird was? Also Ik this seems short but it's just cause the last two were long.)
