I walk into the school, ignoring everyone else and sitting in the back to listen.
"What's up UA candidates? That's for tuning into me- your school DJ! Come on and let me hear ya!" We sit in silence, already tired of his crap. "Keeping it mellow, huh? That's fine I'll skip straight to the main show." Good.
It doesn't take him long to explain our assignment. I look down at my card, noticing I'm in Center A.
We stand in front of a huge city, giant doors blocking our path. This is a little overkill.
The rules are simple, and so is the task. All we have to do is destroy a bunch of robots. I run my plan through my head, making sure everyone else agrees. It's best not to be overwhelmed with new powers and to avoid everyone if possible.
"START." Immediately the blonde-haired kid next to me uses his quirk to blast the first robot in sight.
"DIIIEEEE!!!" he yells before moving onto his next victim. He's strong. He never accepts defeat and he has a slight anger issue. The moment his quirk becomes mine, which happens in the blink of an eye, I know I must leave. I can't risk taking these quirks, no matter how beneficial they may be. Besides, I'll get all the good ones later if they make it in.
"Speedy," I whisper, feeling my favorite quirk take my body.
"Right." I speed away from the others, faster than light itself. I'm on the other end of the city in instant, easily punching robots- no matter the size. I don't have to worry about damage to the robots, so I destroy every robot in sight. Luckily no one follows me, making it easy to focus. I quickly get around 57 points, still using my speed to get more. As far as I've noticed, no one else has a speed quirk, at least not one as good as mine. This brings me to a huge advantage. A huge robot suddenly appears in the middle of the city. Honestly, I'm not surprised when I see the blonde kid from earlier kill it in one shot, probably just to show he could. Either that or in his adrenaline rush he didn't realize it wasn't worth any points.
"ONE MINUTE LEFT." I'm pretty sure I passed, so I'm not really worried. I destroy a few more robots though, just to be sure. The time ends, leaving everyone standing in the debris of our fight. I look over at the blonde kid from earlier- Katsuki Bakugo. Luckily he's brave, aggressive, and strong, meaning the personality I took on is timid, nice, and- well, weak, but I can change that. A strange old lady walks through, asking if anyone is hurt. No one is, which surprises her.
"If you're hurt you're weak." Bakugo retorts. She shrugs, giving him some gummies and leaving for Center B. Bakugo throws the gummies in anger.
"IM NOT SOME LITTLE KID!" She doesn't acknowledge him, she just keeps walking.
We're told to leave and go home. We have to wait for our letters, which will come in the next few days. I sit at the dinner table, nibbling on the spoonful of rice on my plate.
"Sorry, we don't have anything else." I shrug, knowing that my foster parents are doing their best. I've lived with them for 11 years now. They saved me from a life on the streets, from a life of pain and suffering. They used to have a respectable amount of money, but their business started to go downhill a few years ago. They stopped taking in foster kids and got everyone adopted. Besides me, of course. No one wants me.
We finish our meal, sitting out dishes in the sink for me to wash later.
"Takusan, you have mail." My foster mom hands me an envelope, smiling hopefully. I already know that I made it in, but still, this is nerve-wracking. I sit on the floor in our main space, opening the envelope.
"I AM HERE IN A HOLOGRAPHIC MESSAGE!" All Might appears, being overly dramatic, as usual. I roll my eyes, but then suddenly realize.
"Wait, are you a teacher?"
"WHY YES! I AM! AND YOU'RE A STUDENT! CONGRATULATIONS! Now, I have 1,673 more of these, so I will be leaving." The holograph blinks off, leaving me silent.
"You did it! You made it in!" My foster mom hugs me, jumping up and down. "I knew you could do it!"
I half-heartedly jump with her. If All Might is a teacher... there's no way I can avoid his quirk. That means I'll take his dark side. And there's no way it's weak.
