This is Not Training

TAKUSAN'S POV

Eventually, I woke up and was allowed to go home. Hopefully, that won't happen again, I'm worried they might actually expel me. Not that I would blame them, I am a threat to myself, the other students, and even the teachers. I sigh as I see a large crowd surrounding the school. I push through them, ignoring their probably expensive equipment. I hate the media.

"Excuse me, what can you say about All Might being a teacher?" I ignore them, making my way through the gate. I know they can't follow me past it, seeing as the security measures will keep them out. I reach the main school, turning around when the gate flings up. Idiots.

Once in the classroom, Aizawa gives us some advice about the battles. He had watched our fights, which doesn't surprise me. He only gives tips Bakugo and Midoriya though. It's not like I need any tips anyway, I guess.

"Let's get down to business. (A/N: to defeat the Huns?) Our first task will decide your future." I can almost hear everyone's thoughts.

Is it another quirk test?

Oh, that's my own thoughts. Shut up.

"You all need to pick a class representative." Everyone seems very relieved at that. Multiple students shoot up, saying they should be the class rep. I sit in silence, not really wanting the spot. Iida suggests a vote, which of course ends badly. Midoriya is a terrible pick. I didn't really care so I had voted for Kirishima. He seems like a good pick I guess. But now we're stuck with Midoriya.

We go to lunch, where I sit at a table by myself. I pick at my rice, not really hungry even though I have basically no food at home.

"Is this spot taken?" I shake my head as the boy sits next to me. I glance up at him, observing his features. His eyes tell me that he's as dead inside as I am. His hair is purple, and his neutral face warns off potential friends. I like him.

"Why aren't you eating?" I shrug, not really knowing myself. "You aren't very talkative, are you." I shake my head, taking another nibble of the rice. "Aren't you that kid who attacked his class?"

"You know about that?" He nods, taking a bite of his own food.

"I think the whole school knows, dude." I sigh, sitting my chopsticks down. "You should really finish that."

"I'm not hungr-" A fog covers my thoughts, and I sit back down. I scarf down the rice until there's nothing left. I also copy the boy's quirk. Hitoshi Shinso. He's a boy who wants nothing less than to be a hero, but who processes a seemingly villainous quirk. And yet, he just made me eat a meal, one that I was going to throw away, because he somehow knew I needed it. He releases my mind, standing up.

"Much better. See you again later, okay?" He puts his hand up as a form of a wave and walks away. I stare at him as he leaves, glad that we met.

An alarm starts blaring, and an announcement that there's been a security breach it heard by all students. As one would expect, the students panic. I sigh as I'm pushed through the crowd.

"Phaser, a little help?" Phaser's power comes over me, and the students pass through me. Perfect. Phaser's quirk allows all living things to pass through me. I don't use it often, but it came in handy today.

"LISTEN UP! EVERYTHING IS OKAY!" The students stop their scrambling, looking up at Iida in surprise. "IT'S JUST THE MEDIA OUTSIDE! THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! EVERYTHING'S FINE! WE'RE UA STUDENTS! WE NEED TO REMAIN CALM AND PROVE THAT WE ARE THE BEST OF THE BEST!" Did the students not know it was the media? They should be better than that.

We go back to class where Midoriya and Yaoyorozu stand up front. Midoriya seems to be panicking. I still don't know how he got picked for this, but whatever. He's trembling as he suggests that Iida should be the class rep, not himself. This is a waste of time.

"This is a waste of time." My thoughts are voiced by the slug of an Aizawa on the floor. "I don't care who the rep is, just hurry up." Iida accepts the position gratefully, and the whole class seems fine with it. He's not as great as Kirishima, but whatever. (A/N: Kirishima reminds me of Hairo from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., and, let's be honest here, he's a great rep.)

The next day Aizawa prepares us for the day's lesson, explaining that we're going to have three instructors that will watch as we do rescue training. He allows us to wear our costumes and explains that we have to ride a bus to the training facility. I hate busses.

I change into my hero uniform and board the bus with the others, ignoring Iida's yelling. I sit in the corner by myself, hoping to avoid any contact. With the buss's open layout, however, there isn't enough room for my goal and Todoroki ends up sitting next to me.

"Your power is quite strong, Kyarakuta."

"Thanks." We sit awkwardly in silence, each staring out the window ahead of us as the world blurs by.

"Is that what it looks like when you run?" I hesitate, not knowing how to answer.

"It seems like it would be, but Speedy's eyes and brain process everything just as fast, if not faster, than she can run, so it all seems normal to her."

"Her?"

"Well, her original person, Sokudo, was a girl, so I say Speedy's a girl. I don't think that's how it works, but who's to say that's not how it works?" Todoroki shrugs, and we fall back into silence. Asui comments on Midoriya's likeness to All Might. He panics slightly, like an idiot. He should know not to give any hints, or else he'll reveal All Might's secret to everyone. Kirishima somehow covers for Midoriya, without really knowing he's helping, by pointing out that Midoriya breaks himself when he uses his quirk. What a lucky break.

Asui angers the already angry hedgehog that is Bakugo, saying that he won't be a good hero with his temper. Yeah, that wasn't the best idea. Of course, Bakugo gets all angry, and the class takes turns poking at the angry one.

"Hey, hey! We're here. Stop messing around." Aizawa seems annoyed, as always. Once off the bus, we meet a woman in yellow boots and a spacesuit. That's an interesting costume, I guess.

"Hello everyone! I've been waiting for you!" She says, making everyone gasp as if she hasn't been standing there when we came out. Midoriya adds some exposition for us, explaining that the woman in front of us is the rescue hero Thirteen. I'm sure I'm the only one who doesn't know that. It's not like I followed heroes growing up, seeing as I really don't want to be one.

We walk into the building in front of us, amazed to see multiple training facilities for all sorts of disasters. I can see how this would really help train a young hero. Aizawa asks Thirteen where All Might is, and she quietly explains that he used up his powers. I know because she holds up three fingers for three hours. They should really be careful, there are students right here, some of which can easily eavesdrop. Well, it wouldn't be my fault or problem if All Might's secret gets out.

"That man is the height of irresponsibility," Aizawa mutters. "The clock's ticking, we should get started." Thirteen agrees, warning about our quirks, and how they can not only save; but kill. I know all about this crap, I've heard it a million times. She finally finishes her speech, bowing as if what she said wasn't obvious.

A strange spark of electricity flickers on the wall, and the fountain in the middle of the building sputters. A strange dark purple cloud appears in the fountain, and with it, a quirk appears in my mind. I take a step back as its power, but luckily it's easy to absorb since it's not evil. But that means the people exiting the cloud are. Aizawa quickly reacts to the situation, telling us not to move and Thirteen to protect us.

"Wait, has the training started already? I thought we were rescuing people?"

"Stay back!" Aizawa warns. I guess it was easier for me to tell, but this is definitely not training. Aizawa puts on his goggles, preparing for battle. "This is real. Those are villains."
