The pro heroes flood in, taking care of any straggling criminals or injured. All Might makes his leave, coughing blood. I stand in the middle of the clearing, staring at where the villains were just standing. I just let them get away. I can't believe I let them get away so easily. I should've stopped them.

"Hey! Kyarakuta! Are you injured!" I glance over my shoulder to see Kirishima running towards me, waving his arms.

"No, I'm fine."

"Wow, really? You just fought the bad guy and you aren't harmed at all? That's incredible!"

"It is, isn't it." I go back to staring at the spot where they disappeared. Why didn't I stop them?

"Hey, don't act all depressed. You totally saved us!" He punches my shoulder, laughing. "You're so cool!"

"Thanks, Kirishima." I give him a small smile as if to say I'm okay.

"I better go check on everyone else. I'll be going!" I nod at him. He's going to be a good hero.

"Kyarakuta, Kirishima. Please go to the entrance with the other students. We'll take care of any injured."

"Oh, okay!" Kirishima smiles happily, running up to Bakugo and Todoroki and telling them where to go. I follow a good distance behind, allowing them to talk about their ordeals. Before we get to the entrance Bakugo stops, turning around to glare at me. I ignore him and continue walking.

"Hey." I stop, refusing to look at him. He's probably mad for no reason. "That was pretty cool." I turn around, confused, but he's already walking away.

Once outside the class is gathered and accounted for.

"Eighteen, Nineteen, Twenty, Twenty-one. Everyone seems to be unharmed" The class starts to chatter about their whereabouts during the ordeal, some bragging and some being overly dramatic. They all seem proud of themselves for surviving. "Let's go ahead and get these students back to the main campus. They've been through a lot; we don't need to question them right away."

Asui literally hops forward, asking the detective about Aizawa. The detective explains that he'll be fine, though his neck was severely damaged. If the villain had held on a moment longer he would've broken through to the windpipe, killing Aizawa. I'm glad I stopped him in time. The detective continues to update the class about the other heroes, explaining that they'll all be fine. The class all seems very relieved.

"Now let's get you back to class." He orders an officer to walk us back. As usual, I fall in the back, following the others. I'm surprised when Bakugo silently joins me. He doesn't say anything; he doesn't even look at me. He just walks by my side, behind the others.

We make it to the main building, and the officer walking us tells us to go home. Well, most of us.

"Hey, kid." He puts his hand on my shoulder, stopping me. "The principal wants to speak with you." I nod, turning towards Nezu's office. I knew I couldn't avoid this, but I didn't think it would happen so soon. I knock on the door, causing it to slowly open.

"Ah, Kyarakuta. Come on in." I step into the office, meeting Nezu and All Might's eyes as I enter. I break eye contact, staring at the ground. "Come, sit!" Nezu offers, gesturing to the seat across from them. I quietly sit down, still staring at my feet.

"Don't look so down, kid." I flinch at All Might's gentle voice. It reminds me of someone I knew a long time ago.

"We've asked you here to talk about your future as a UA student." I nod. I had expected this conversation, and I already knew what was going to happen. "I believe that you did not come here to be a hero, but to instead be able to control your quirk. Is my assumption correct?" Had it really been that easy to tell? I nod silently, allowing my eyes to un-focus as I stare at the floor.

"And now?" All Might asks, staring at me. I look up at him, confused.

"What?"

"While we were fighting, you refused to leave the battle. You wanted to keep your friends safe. And you did! You managed to distract the villain, and he never laid a finger on you. I've never seen someone your age fight like that."

"And?"

"Kyarakuta, I see potential in you. More potential than you could ever understand. I believe that you have a real shot at being a hero. At being the top hero."

"Really?"

"Yes. And with some training, you'll have that quirk of yours under wrap. You'll see."

"What we're trying to say, Kyarakuta, is that we don't want you to quit. We want you to do everything in your power to keep going. We believe you'll do amazing things." Nezu adds. I look up, trying to keep my eyes from watering.

"I can't be a hero. Not with my past."

Nezu and All Might sit in silence as I get up and leave. They'd never understand.

When I get home I throw myself onto my blanket, falling into an uneasy sleep.

"Takusan! You have a quirk!" My mom happily spins me around, laughing. My dad grins, tickling my mom and I until we're crying. "Stop it, honey!" She sets me down, kneeling in front of me. "I'm so proud of you. I love you so much, Takusan." I leap into her, hugging my mom. My dad laughs, joining the group hug.

We get up, walking down the sidewalk happily. When we turn a corner we're greeted by a monster hurtling through the alley. He's creating multiple explosions, seemingly with his mind. It must be his quirk.

My eyes grow wide as I blow up a nearby dumpster by accident. I squeeze my eyes shut, hoping to stop it.

"TAKUSAN!" My mom's screech collides with the monster's as he lounges at me, but a hero stops him just in time. He's wearing all denim and his hair is slicked to the side.

"Don't worry, I'll stop this!" He uses his quirk to control his clothes, wrapping up the monster. He saved us.

"Thank you so much!" My mom bows to the hero, going to hug me as I stand stiff. "I thought we lost him."

"No need to thank me, ma'am." He jumps away, bringing the monster with him. My eyes are wide, my mind is fogging over.

"Takusan? Are you alright?" My mom kneels in front of me, or what was me. I smile, grabbing the threads of her shirt with my mind. I tighten her collar until her face is blue. "Ta-kusa-n?" I finally end her suffering, tightening her clothes enough to suffocate her. I then turn to my dad, who's stiff with fear.

"Hey, buddy. Calm down..." I smile again, using my own clothing to tear him apart limb by limb. When the dead is done, I black out.

"Should we help him?"

"Why is he all alone?"

"Where are his parents?"

I wonder the streets, tears in my eyes. When I woke up I found my parent's bodies, each torn to pieces to the point that I almost didn't recognize them. When I saw their bodies I remembered the fog that covered my mind, and how my body was taken over by someone else's quirk.

Don't look so down, kid. You're powerful. Thanks to me.

I grab my head, attempting to block out the voices.

It's what you wanted, wasn't it?

I shake my head viciously, tears streaming down my face.

Oh. Pity.

I start running, but I can't escape his voice. No matter what I do it's there, in the back of my head. Finally, I find an alley and crouch down, holding my head.

"I didn't want this! Why did this happen?"

"Hey, are you okay? Come on, let's get you some help." I look up at the nice woman in front of me. Her smile is so inviting, so cheerful. I wipe my tears away and take her hand.
